NFL Media analyst Lance Zierlein calls Kentucky CB Chris Westry a “high-ceiling, low-floor” corner.
Westry has really seen his draft stock rise since his sensational pro day in March, where he ran a 4.31 second 40-yard dash and showed off a 38-inch vertical jump. That’s impressive, but doing it at 6-foot-5, 199-pound size? Yeah, that’ll intrigue anyone. “Westry’s workout numbers will be hard to ignore and he will likely appeal to press-heavy defenses and cover-3 units looking for a late-round option with traits and upside,” Zierlein writes. “Despite his unique physical characteristics, he’s still a high ceiling, low floor corner.” Expect his name to be called between the fifth-to-seventh round on Saturday.

Kentucky CB Chris Westry ran the 40-yard dash in an unofficial 4.31 seconds at his pro day.
Not only did Westry run like the wind, but he also recorded a 38-inch vertical jump at 6-foot-4. Up until now, Westry has completely flown under the radar during the pre-draft process, but these scores will get him some extra looks. That, however, does not mean he’ll be drafted. Let’s see if any buzz begins to build leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft.

ESPN’s Kevin Weidl calls Kentucky freshman CB Chris Westry “a rangy cornerback with ridiculous length, above-average fluidity and strong ball awareness.”
The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Westry stepped right into the lineup and finished with eight pass breakups and two interceptions in his first collegiate season. “But more important, he provided defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot the flexibility to put him on an island to the boundary and rotate coverage to the other side of the field for much of the year,” Weidl wrote. “Like most freshmen, he still has plenty of room to improve his instincts and can continue to add weight. But Westry is a name that fans need to get to know -- he has an enormously high ceiling and very bright future.”
