    Vikings released T Chris Liwienksi.
The Mike Tice-era holdover might get some interest on the open market.
  • New Cardinal Chris Liwienski is now the team’s starting left guard.
Liwienski, who was cut by Minnesota last weekend, signed Tuesday. It’s not a great sign, but for this week, the Cardinals should hold their own against what has been an anemic San Francisco pass rush.
  • After starting 75 straight games, LG Chris Liwienski has been benched by coach Mike Tice.
The newly acquired Toniu Fonoti, who has yet to play for the Vikings, will start in his place. Minnesota’s offensive line has been perhaps their biggest problem in a season full of big problems.
  • Free agent G Milford Brown, who was released by the Cardinals on Tuesday, could reportedly be an option for the Dolphins.
Coach Cam Cameron likes guards quick and athletic, and Brown fits the bill. Miami currently has journeyman Chris Liwienski penciled in as a starter.
  • Chris Liwienski is the Dolphins’ new starting left guard.
Liwienski has starting experience, but this Miami offensive line is not looking much improved from last season. Hudson Houck will have his work cut out.
  • MIA Tackle
Dolphins LT Vernon Carey could be moved to the right side this offseason.
The Dolphins would have to find a solution on the blind side then, possibly involving a free agent signing or Michigan OT Jake Long. The team will consider cutting RT L.J. Shelton, who is due $3 million in 2008. Both of Miami’s starting guards, Rex Hadnot and Chris Liwienski, will be free agents this offseason.
  • Jaguars signed veteran free agent G Chris Liwienski.
Liwienski is being brought in for depth while center Brad Meester is out with a strained biceps muscle. The team released quarterback Paul Smith to make room on the roster.
  • JAX Running Back
Jaguars signed RB Ciatrick Fason and released OL Chris Liwienski.
Fason’s addition may be a sign Jacksonville isn’t too pleased with what it’s seen from rookie Chauncey Washington. Liwienski defines journeyman.
  • Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio mentioned Chris Liwienski as a possible free-agent addition Monday.
Liwienski, who the team released last month, could help a depleted Jaguars line that was hit hard Sunday with a season-ending knee injury to Vince Manuwai and a potentially season-ending ruptured biceps for Maurice Williams.
  • LAC Center
The Dolphins are still without an accomplished left guard opposite Justin Smiley.
The team rejected overtures from ex-Dolphin Jeno James and hasn’t returned phone calls from the agent of unsigned Chris Liwienski. Right now, the competition is between Drew Mormino, Shawn Murphy, and Donald Thomas.
