A team source tells ESPN Dallas FB Tony Fiammetta will be the only restricted free agent tendered a contract by the Cowboys.
QB Chris Greisen will join Kevin Ogletree in being non-tendered. Fiammetta will reportedly receive the $1.26 million tender, giving Dallas the right of first refusal. If Fiammetta signed an offer sheet the Cowboys decided not to match, they would receive a fourth-round pick as compensation.
  • DAL Quarterback
Cowboys promoted QB Chris Greisen from the practice squad.
The move could be interpreted as eye-brow raising with Tony Romo dealing with an injured throwing hand, but there’s been absolutely nothing to suggest he’s in danger of missing Sunday’s all-or-nothing tilt with the Giants. A 35-year-old former UFL standout, Greisen has attempted 16 career NFL passes.
  • DAL Quarterback
The Cowboys will not tender exclusive rights free agent QB Chris Greisen, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Greisen turns 35 in July, and was signed last year only as roster insurance after Tony Romo went on injured reserve. He doesn’t have a future in the NFL.
