Rookie Daniel Sepulveda should replace Gardocki as the team’s starting punter. The 16-year veteran made one Pro Bowl and never had a punt blocked, a stat we’re thankful we don’t have to hear an announcer mention again.

The Steelers signed unrestricted free agent punter Chris Gardocki to a five-year, $6.5 million contract, including a $1 million signing bonus.

So the Steelers don’t address the secondary, yet they sign a second punter? We assume they will cut punter Josh Miller, who has spent his entire eight-year career in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh drafted two-time Ray Guy Award winner Daniel Sepulveda on Sunday. The team has been trying to replace Gardocki the last two years.

Lee becomes one of the NFL’s higher-paid punters with a $7.1 million deal that includes a $1.66 million signing bonus. The Steelers may now look to free agent Matt Turk as a replacement for Chris Gardocki.
