Giants released WR Chase Cota from the IR with an injury settlement.
Cota signed with the Lions in 2023 after going undrafted and also spent time on the Chiefs and Texans practice squads bere joining the Giants. He signed a futures deal with the Giants prior to the 2024 season but broke his collarbone at the end of OTAs and was placed on the injured reserve. He’ll now try to latch on with another team.

Former UCLA junior WR Chase Cota transferred to Oregon.
Cota (6'3/209) has been in Pasadena for four years, catching 67-of-109 targets for 880 yards, 13.1 YPC and six touchdowns while posting pedestrian PFF receiving grades in the mid 50’s in each of his collegiate seasons. A former four-star caliber recruit, Cota stretched the field this year for the Bruins, averaging 16.8 yards of depth on his 33 targets. An experienced hand who can add some veteran experience to a young Ducks receiver room, Cota will have two years of eligibility remaining at Oregon.

UCLA sophomore WR Chase Cota hauled in four receptions for a career-high 147 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 67-63 win at Washington State.
Cota (6'4/195) jelled nicely with QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson in this one, as the Bruins offense finally hit its stride after struggling in the first three games. In fact, UCLA scored a combined 42 points in their first three outings, with exactly 14 points in each loss. Perhaps this will get DTR, Cota and the rest of the Bruins going. They’ll look to carry over the momentum into next Saturday’s game in Arizona.

The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman believes UCLA sophomore WR Chase Cota is “primed for a breakout.”
Feldman explains that Cota had a “big offseason” and “has gotten much stronger and grown into his frame and is more comfortable in the system.” He’s up to 210 pounds since entering college at 195, a significant difference for the 6-foot, 4-inch jump-ball specialist. He only recorded 13 receptions for 140 yards last season but figures to be a lot more productive as the UCLA offense looks to take a step forward as a unit.

Four-star WR Chase Cota verbally committed to play at UCLA.
Cota (6'4/195) picks UCLA over Alabama, California, Notre Dame and Oregon, among others. ESPN ranks him the 47th best WR in the country, and a member of their top 300. Outside of his obvious size, positives in his scouting reports cite his hands and ability to high-point the football, while noting he’s not going to be a burner. Chip Kelly and his group has hit the ground running in terms of recruiting. No one should be surprised.
