Cincinnati sophomore RB Charles McClelland is expected to miss the fall campaign after sustaining a torn left ACL in practice.
McClelland (5'11/190) underwent surgery on Monday. Playing as a true freshman last season, he flashed very nicely, rushing for 485 yards (7.7 YPC) and four touchdowns while posting a 9-108-1 receiving line across 13 games played. While the Bearcats remain set at running back with Michael Warren and Gerrid Doaks, McClelland would have been a stellar complementary cog in the holster had he been able to maintain his health into the season. As is, Ryan Montgomery could see a little heavier usage this fall.
