Auburn junior LB Chandler Wooten (right knee) is expected to be ready by the season opener against Oregon after suffering a right knee injury during the A-Day Game.
Wooten (6'2/228) was helped off the field by team trainers, and while HC Gus Malzahn provided no update regarding the linebacker’s status he did say that he expects all injured players to be healthy for the season opener against Oregon. “No, no updates as far as there was a couple things they did, minor things,” Malzahn said Wednesday, “but we expect everybody to be back for the first game at this point.” Wooten will look to earn more playing time after appearing in just five games in 2018, tallying ten total tackles.
