Chiefs S Chamarri Conner was forced from Kansas City’s Week 15 game against the Browns with a concussion and will not return.
Second-year pro Conner entered Week 15 with 554 snaps on defense. He has ball-hawked for two interceptions and earned solid marks from Pro Football Focus. It’s not a great development for a slumping pass D, while Conner has only six days to get cleared for Week 16 with the Chiefs playing on Saturday.
  • Chiefs traded up with the Vikings to select Virginia Tech DB Chamarri Conner with the No. 119 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Chiefs gave up the 134th pick of the 2023 NFL draft and a 2024 fifth-round pick to select the former Hokie DB. Conner will bring a physical style of play to the Chiefs defense. Kansas City has steadily been trying to add to their defensive backfield and Conner should provide quality backup depth.

  • Virginia Tech junior DB Chamarri Conner was ejected from Saturday’s game at North Carolina for targeting.
The only positive here is that the penalty was assessed during the first half, meaning that Conner (6'0/211) will not have to miss any of next weekend’s game vs. Boston College. But the junior defensive back’s ejection leaves the Hokies even more depleted in the secondary, an area that has been hit hard by COVID-19 protocols (meaning positive results or contact tracing) this season.
