June

June, 42, was drafted by the Colts in 2003 and spent the first four years of his career with Indianapolis, winning Super Bowl 41. He started 73 games in the NFL with the Colts, Bucs, and Bears and has been coaching since ending his playing career in 2011. He coached outside linebackers at Bowling Green last season. This is June’s first pro job.

June underwent surgery for a sports hernia this offseason. He’ll practice once-a-day.

As arrests go, this is pretty minor: He was released on a $500 bond. It continues a string of incidents involving the Colts, though, dating back to last offseason.

Jones is still only 32, but no teams had come calling since the end of the 2009 season. A Pro Bowler in 2005, June was considered one of the better coverage linebackers in football during his brief heyday. A Tampa-2 weak-side linebacker at 6'0/229, June finished his seven-year career with 73 starts, 12 interceptions, and two forced fumbles. He won a Super Bowl in February 2007.

He’s expected to be fine for Sunday.

The Colts are uncertain about his status. “It looks like it’s the very first stages of it,’' coach Tony Dungy said.

With 29 tackles, five interceptions and two touchdowns, June has been one of the elite linebackers in IDP leagues. He’s expected to suit up this week, but check back Sunday morning.
