Casey Printers signed a three-year contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL after being released by Kansas City during final cuts.
Printers will collect $500,000 per season, which is about twice what he would have made as the Chiefs’ third QB. This is probably a career move.
  • KC Quarterback
Chiefs quarterback Casey Printers will see his practice snaps increase following the trade of Trent Green.
The Chiefs were high enough on him to place Jason Dunn, a key component of their run game, on I.R. prior to Week 17 in 2006 to protect Printers from being plucked off the practice squad. He’ll likely earn the third QB job.
  • KC Quarterback
Chiefs released QB Casey Printers, QB Jeff Terrell, WR Brad Ekwerekwu, S Marlon Fair, DT Kiki Gonzalez, WR Chris Hannon, FB Gilbert Harris, DE Michael Heard, G Rob Hunt, DT Patrice Majondo-Mwamba, DE Montez Murphy, T James Newby, RB Marcus O’Keith, CB Justin Phinisee, CB Will Poole, WR Ean Randolph, LB Nick Reid, LB Rich Scanlon, G Tre Stallings, and TE Keith Willis.
Terrell or Printers will be re-signed and placed on the practice squad as Kansas City’s third quarterback. O’Keith had some good moments and may also get put on the practice squad. Hard Knocks favorite Boomer Grigsby made the team as a fullback.
  • SF Quarterback
Even if Damon Huard wins the starting quarterback job in Kansas City, Brodie Croyle is still expected to see plenty of action during the season.
The two are sharing reps at Chiefs camp, along with Casey Printers. One worry for Kansas City is Croyle’s lack of size and whether he can hold up for 16 games. Huard almost certainly gives the team its best chance to win now.
  • KC Quarterback
Chiefs signed former CFL most valuable player QB Casey Printers.
The deal is for three years and $1.03 million. Printers is one of the most highly sought after CFL players in years, and was also pursued by the Colts and Lions. He played with LT2 at TCU and is a dynamic running quarterback.

  • KC Quarterback

The former CFLer will be Kansas City’s third quarterback Sunday.
  • KC Quarterback
If Damon Huard (questionable, groin) is deemed unable to play in Week 8, the Chiefs will likely bring Casey Printers up from the practice squad.
One tell on whether Huard has a real shot to play will come if Printers is activated Saturday. If he’s not, the Chiefs would only have one healthy QB, Brodie Croyle, on game day. They may bring the former CFLer up just in case, but if they don’t, Huard can be expected to play.
  • KC Quarterback
Chiefs signed QB Casey Printers to a three-year contract.
Printers had been on the team’s practice squad. His addition means Damon Huard (groin) is unlikely to play in Week 8. Printers will be Kansas City’s backup to Brodie Croyle if Huard is inactive Sunday.
