Rookie free agent Scott Rislov was released on Monday. Bramlet is 6-for-12 passing for 41 yards in two preseason games.

A number of signings will occur in the next couple of weeks so teams can meet their NFL Europe quota. But Bramlet will be one of the interesting No. 3 quarterbacks who could get a boost from a positive experience.

The idea of running a developmental league in which players go through a full season, then arrive at training camps banged up and tired never worked. Saturday’s matchup will pit the Hamburg Sea Devils, QB’d by Casey Bramlet, versus the Frankfurt Galaxy (J.T. O’Sullivan). We don’t recommend tuning in.

Shockley was battling Chris Redman for the backup job to Joey Harrington in Atlanta. Casey Bramlet could make the team if Shockley’s out for the season.

Bramlet was a NFL Europa star, but has been cut by the Redskins and Falcons this year. He will allow backup QB John Beck to focus on the Dolphins playbook rather than work on the scout team.

Casey Bramlet, property of the Redskins, passed for 347 yards and four TDs in the win. Bramlet will go to training camp but won’t make the club’s roster.

Bramlet, a star in NFL Europa this spring, was cut by Washington a few days ago. If he picks up the offense quickly, there’s a chance he’ll win a roster spot. Amey is likely a camp body.
