Davis

Davis signed to the Cowboys’ practice squad in 2023, appearing in three regular-season games. He initially entered the league as a third-round pick by the Ravens in 2015, bouncing around to the Browns, Colts, and Jaguars before joining the Patriots in 2020. He spent three seasons with the Patriots, starting seven games in that span. The 31-year-old will continue with the Cowboys for now as part of a defensive tackle room that also includes Johnathan Hankins and Mazi Smith.

Davis joined the league and floated between teams for a few years before finding a home in New England. He has been with the Pats since 2020 and picked up a larger role last year. Davis appeared in all 17 games, was credited with four starts, and earned his first career sack.

Davis was re-signed just 36 days ago, but the Jags have decided to move on. The 28-year-old is facing a four-game PED suspension. Davis made just three 2019 appearances between the Jags and Colts.

Davis will be suspended for the first four games of the 2020 season due to a PEDs violation. The 28-year-old was the 90th overall pick of the Ravens in the 2015 draft and has appeared in 36 career games, recording zero sacks.

Davis ended 2019 with the Jaguars but is headed to free agency. Already a journeyman, soon-to-be 28-year-old Davis’ ban will make it that much more difficult for him to latch onto someone’s 90-man roster.

Davis, 27, is a former third-rounder, but he has never able to earn meaningful snaps. In 2018, he was on the field for 31 total snaps.

A potential steal out of Iowa, Davis has top-50 talent but slipped to No. 90 due to “motor” concerns. Davis won’t be an every-down player in Baltimore like he was forced to be as a Hawkeye, which will mitigate his tendency to take plays off. Davis should contribute on 15-25 snaps per game as a rookie.

Davis (6'5/320) was a two-year starter for the Hawkeyes, racking up 14.5 career tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries. He was voted second-team All-Big Ten as a junior and senior by the conference’s coaches. Davis showed plus athleticism for his size at the Combine, running 5.07 with a 33-inch vertical. Davis’ strength is his ability to play with power. He has long arms (34 5/8") and huge hands (11"), and can push the pocket even if he isn’t a big-time sack threat. Davis’ red flag is an inconsistent motor on tape.

A 2015 third-rounder, Davis played 300 snaps and made nine starts for the Ravens this season while appearing in 15-of-16 games. He has one year left on his rookie deal and is expected to be ready for training camp.
