Dennis Green has taken over the play-calling duties in Arizona.
He started on Sunday, with no improvement. The Cardinals are 30th in the NFL on offense so far this season. Jacksonville is last, but 3-0.

Arizona fired offensive coordinator Alex Wood and receivers coach Robert Ford Monday.
Dennis Green is going to hold everyone in the Arizona organization accountable until things stick. Considering their weapons and lack of production, we see change as a good thing. Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald need to take big steps forward next season.

The Cardinals have a lot of cap space, but won’t go after big ticket free agent items.
Arizona will look for a few mid-level players and work on an extension for Anquan Boldin. They may have had the free agent signing of the year last offseason when they picked up Bertrand Berry, who had 14 1/2 sacks, for relatively cheap.

Cardinals coach Dennis Green said that Larry Fitzgerald is the best player in the NFL draft.
He’s right, and he doesn’t care about tipping his hand. Green almost sounded resigned to the fact that the Chargers or Raiders will take Fitzgerald.

The Raiders are not expected to pursue Cardinals offensive boss Todd Haley for their head-coaching position.
Interim coach Tom Cable seems all but certain to get Oakland’s full-time job. That would leave the Chiefs as Haley’s lone remaining potential suitor.

The Arizona Republic is “hearing” the Jets have interest in former Chiefs coach Todd Haley as a potential replacement for OC Brian Schottenheimer.
The Republic also confirms the Cardinals have offered Haley a spot on their coaching staff, but hasn’t reported that an agreement has already been reached. Seemingly desperate to upgrade on Schottenheimer, it’s possible the Jets could make Haley an offer the Cardinals won’t be inclined to match.

The Cardinals have not yet offered a job to former Chiefs coach Todd Haley, sources tell the Arizona Republic.
Haley is likely seeing what else is out there before agreeing to return to Arizona, where he served as the team’s offensive coordinator from 2007-08. It’s possible he’s interested in the Jets’ OC job if Brian Schottenheimer moves on. The Cardinals’ current offensive coordinator is Mike Miller.

The Cardinals spoke to former Chiefs coach Todd Haley over the weekend about a spot on their staff, but no hire is imminent.
XTRA 910 Phoenix’s Mike Jurecki suspects Haley is “probably trying to buy some time” in order to see if he gets any head-coaching interview requests. It’s been reported that the Jets would have interest in Haley as an offensive coordinator to succeed Brian Schottenheimer. Ideally, the Cards would have Haley on staff in time for Senior Bowl practices, beginning January 23.

Cardinals fired QBs coach Chris Miller.
Not an overly notable move in and of itself, but it’s noteworthy considering the Cardinals have been talking to former OC Todd Haley about a return to the desert. For what it’s worth, AZCardinals.com’s Darren Urban reports there is nothing “imminent” with Haley.

Cardinals OL coach Russ Grimm is reportedly signing a new contract to remain in Arizona.
Although Grimm’s contract was up, his name has been noticeably absent in head coaching searches around the league over the past few weeks. He has ties to new Jacksonville coach Mike Mularkey, though Grimm’s relationship with Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt is perhaps even stronger. The Cardinals also re-signed ST teams coach Kevin Spencer, TEs coach Freddie Kitchens, DL coach Ron Aiken, and RBs coach Tommie Robinson.
