Steelers CB Cameron Sutton has been suspended eight games due to a violation of the personal conduct policy.
Sutton was arrested in March and charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic battery. After further investigation, the league determined that Sutton violated the personal conduct policy, which resulted in his suspension. Sutton signed with the Steelers back in June after spending 2023 with the Lions. The veteran corner started all 17 games he appeared in, totaling 65 tackles, one interception, and six pass breakups. Sutton will not appeal his suspension and is eligible for reinstatement on October 29.

Steelers signed CB Cam Sutton, formerly of the Lions, to a one-year contract.
Sutton, 29, played for the Steelers from 2017 to 2022 before a one-year stint with the Lions, who released him in April. Sutton in April was charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic battery. He’s been accused of domestic battery by strangulation, a third-degree felony in the state of Florida, where the incident allegedly happened, according to SportingNews.com. Sutton faces up to five years in prison if convicted. He has nine interceptions over seven NFL seasons.

Free agent CB Cam Sutton was charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic battery
Sutton appeared in a Florida court on Monday after turning himself in on Sunday. According to Lions team president Rod Wood, Sutton was working out with the team’s strength staff when he and the team learned of a warrant for his arrest and said the team encouraged him to turn himself in before releasing him the next day. Sutton totaled 65 tackles and one interception in 17 games last season but likely won’t draw any interest from teams until his legal issues are sorted out.

Free agent CB Cam Sutton turned himself in to the police after a warrant was issued for his alleged involvement in a domestic violence incident.
Sutton was released by the Lions days after it was announced a warrant had been issued for him regarding his alleged involvement in an alleged domestic violence situation. Sutton finally turned himself in nearly two weeks after the warrant was issued and is facing a charge of domestic battery by strangulation, which is a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Sutton’s playing days will likely be put on hold until this legal issue is behind him.

    Lions released CB Cameron Sutton.
It was announced earlier in the week by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office that an arrest warrant had been issued for Sutton regarding his alleged involvement in a “domestic battery by strangulation.” The authorities posted to social media a request for help from the public to locate Sutton, who they have been searching for over the last two weeks. Now released by the Lions, Sutton, who signed a three-year, $33 million contract last offseason, likely has a lot to clear up before another team would take a shot on him. Sutton totaled 65 tackles and one interception for the Lions last season while appearing in all 17 games.

Lions signed CB Cameron Sutton, formerly of the Steelers, to a three-year, $33 million contract.
Sutton was drafted by the Steelers in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. It took him a few years to crack the starting lineup, but he has since become a solid outside corner. Pro Football Focus ranked him as their No. 28 cornerback in 2022. Sutton broke up 15 passes and notched three interceptions last year. For a Detroit secondary that has been walked over by most of their opponents in recent years, Sutton will provide a considerable upgrade while also bringing stability to the unit.

Steelers ruled out CB Cameron Sutton (hamstring) for Week 6 against the Bucs.
Sutton picked up the hamstring injury last week against the Bills and DNP-ed all week in practice. With S Minkah Fitzpatrick (knee), CB Levi Wallace (concussion), and CB Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring) also out, the Steelers set up as a tantalizing matchup for Tom Brady, Mike Evans, and Chris Godwin.

Steelers CB Cameron Sutton suffered a hamstring injury and won’t return against the Bills.
The Steelers also ruled out defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi with a back issue. Sutton has played all but a handful of snaps for the Steelers this season. He has two interceptions. Buffalo didn’t need any help putting points on the board, but a few injuries to Pittsburgh’s defense won’t hurt.

Steelers re-signed CB Cameron Sutton to a two-year, $9 million contract.
It all but guarantees the Steelers allow CB Mike Hilton to walk in free agency, moving Sutton into the lineup as the team’s starting slot corner. Assuming he’s available for all 16 games, the 26-year-old is expected to surpass the career-high 548 (53%) snaps he played on defense just last year.

Steelers CB Cameron Sutton practiced with the first-team defense on Thursday.
Sutton replaced usual slot corner Mike Hilton, who most recently gave up a long touchdown to the Chargers then dropped a gimme interception the following week in Oakland. Sutton, Pittsburgh’s 2017 third-round pick, would’ve been the team’s likely slot corner had he not sustained an injury that kept him out for the majority of training camp. If given the start, the second-year pro would be tasked in matching up with Julian Edelman throughout the afternoon.
