Dolphins designated Bradley Chubb (knee) to return from the PUP list.
He will practice this week, per Mike McDaniel. Ditto Cameron Goode. Chubb tore his ACL in Week 17 of the 2023 season and McDaniel has previously referred to this injury as “an ACL plus” because of additional damage. It would be a nice boost to the fading Dolphins hopes if Chubb could come in and be the 2023 version of himself right away. A more likely outcome is that he takes some time to return to form. It’s good to see him on the practice field at all after nearly a full calendar year away.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said Bradley Chubb (knee) will open the season on the reserve/PUP list.
Chubb will be required to miss the first four games of the season as he continues to recover from a torn ACL he suffered on December 31. The veteran pass-rusher totaled 74 tackles and 11 sacks for the Dolphins last season, turning in his best year since his 2018 rookie campaign. We’ll see if his absence stretches beyond the minimum, but the earliest he can return will be Week 5 against the Patriots. In addition to Chubb, the Dolphins are also placing LB Cam Goode on the reserve/PUP list.
  • MIA Tackle #77
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Dolphins have placed LG Isaiah Wynn on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
Wynn landed on injured reserve after suffering a Week 7 quadriceps strain and he has evidently yet to fully recover. The Dolphins are smartly playing things cautiously with their shallow offensive line depth. EDGE Cameron Goode was also moved to the PUP list while running back Salvon Ahmed was sent to the active/non-football injury (NFI) list. Players who remain on the active/PUP list come Week 1 must remain sidelined for at least four games.
  • MIA Linebacker #53
    Dolphins released EDGE Cameron Goode.
Goode, a seventh-round pick in the 2022 draft, profiled as an over-the-middle defender who impressed at the NFL Combine. He couldn’t crack Miami’s final roster and will look to latch on with another team in need of EDGE depth.

  • MIA Linebacker #53
Dolphins selected California EDGE Cameron Goode with the No. 224 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein notes that “Goode’s slippery rush could be worth a longer look if he can prove himself as a special teams performer but he might need to make a more full-time move from the edge to 4-3 outside linebacker.” He ran a 4.63 40-yard dash and has a 81 3/4-inch wingspan, which could make him a nice over-the-middle defender if he can make that transition.

  • MIA Linebacker #53
Cal DC Tim DeRuyter told Stewart Mandel of The Athletic that redshirt junior LB Cameron Goode is ‘arguably’ the Golden Bears’ top defensive player.
Goode missed all but the season-opening win over North Carolina last year with an undisclosed injury. Mandel writes that they are “thrilled” to get the defender back, and he’s returned two passes for touchdowns in his time with the Golden Bears. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound defender could be an NFL target with a big year, but it’s worth keeping in mind that he’s had two years end with injuries now, so there are medical red-flags to keep in mind.
  • MIA Linebacker #53
Cal coach Justin Wilcox announced that redshirt sophomore LB Cameron Goode (lower-body) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The injury occurred in the season-opening win over North Carolina, a game Goode impacted in a big way with a 38-yard pick-six. He’s missed the Bears’ last two games. No details were provided about the nature of Goode’s injury or whether he’ll need surgery. But HC Justin Wilcox said he expects Goode to be healthy by spring workouts. This is the second straight year that Goode’s season has ended prematurely with an injury.
