Nebraska DB coach Travis Fisher said in the spring that sophomore DB Cam Taylor is talented enough to start at any position in the secondary.
And to that notion, Taylor saw reps at safety, nickel and cornerback during spring practice. What makes this versatility all the more impressive is that the 6-foot, 205-pound sophomore remains very green to the nuances of defensive back play. He was a dual-threat quarterback coming out of high school, ranking as a three-star “athlete” in the 2018 class. Transitioning to the secondary during his first year of collegiate ball, Taylor logged 12 tackles across 10 games played. 247Sports’ Michael Bruntz believes that Taylor is “a difference-maker who will get a chance to impress this fall.” Just how Nebraska plans on utilizing the Swiss Army Knife defender this coming season will clarify in August camp.
