ESPN’s Jenna Laine writes that Bucs OC Josh Grizzard “won’t try to reinvent the wheel.”
Taking over from Liam Coen after spending the year designing Tampa’s third-down looks, Grizzard said “continuity will remain essentially the same.” The team will use the same verbiage, formations, and motions as it did last year. Mike Evans told reporters “it’s going to be similar to what we’ve run.” An unchanged offense in Tampa Bay would be good news for Baker Mayfield, Bucky Irving, Evans and company. There will undoubtedly be new challenges for Grizzard, but we should be expecting a similar shape of production from a fantasy perspective.

Bucky Irving rushed 17 carries for 77 yards in the Bucs’ Wild Card loss to the Commanders, adding a six-yard touchdown reception.
It was an impressive rookie season for Irving, who carried the ball 207 times for 1,122 yards and eight touchdowns in the regular season despite not truly taking over the backfield until the final few weeks of the season. He also added 392 receiving yards on 47 catches (52 targets) and had 11 plays over 20 yards. He should have a stranglehold on the lead back job in Tampa Bay heading into next season and given his ability to break big plays and help out in the passing game as well, Irving is at least a high-end RB2 for 2025.

Bucky Irving rushed 19 times for 89 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers’ Week 18 win over the Saints while adding two catches for negative five yards.
Irving took a flip from Baker Mayfield that counted as a rush since it was behind the line of scrimmage for his eighth touchdown of the season. The 22-year-old really impressed when given the chance to be the top option in the Tampa Bay backfield, and looks like a potential fantasy star at the tailback position. The playoffs are next for Irving.

Bucky Irving (shoulder/shin) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 18 against the Saints.
Irving was limited in the first two practices of the week but got in a full session on Friday before being cleared entirely. Given the lengthy list of injuries he has dealt with as a rookie, rest days make sense for a Bucs squad eying a deep playoff run. Coming off a 24-touch, 190-yard outing in Week 17, Irving is firmly in the RB1 ranks to close out the regular season.

Bucky Irving (shoulder/shin) was listed during Thursday’s practice.
Irving has now been limited in consecutive practices. It appears to be more about maintenance at this point, as it’d be an upset if the 22-year-old rookie wasn’t able to go for Sunday’s (essentially) must-win game against the Saints.

Bucky Irving (shoulder/shin) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Irving has been a mainstay of the injury report throughout his rookie season, so this isn’t anything new. A limited session is likely a maintenance day following a 24-touch outing in Week 17. With an NFC South title on the line this week, Irving should suit up versus the Saints. He has more than earned an RB1 ranking for Tampa Bay’s final game of the regular season.
  • TB Running Back #7
Bucky Irving rushed 20 times for 113 yards in the Bucs’ Week 17 win over the Panthers, adding four receptions for 77 yards.
Per usual, Irving was the Bucs’ most explosive back by far, averaging 5.7 yards per carry plus an absurd 19.3 yards per target. Irving nearly got in the end zone in the second quarter but was barely forced out of bounds at the one-yard line on a 42-yard catch and run. The long gain came one play after Irving picked up 34 yards on the ground. Baker Mayfield capped the drive with a one-yard toss to Mike Evans. He would go on to throw all five of the team’s offensive touchdowns. While the lack of a touchdown stopped Irving short of a legendary day, he matched his RB1 talent with an equivalent role. He has earned a spot in the RB1 ranks for a must-win matchup with the Saints next week.

Bucky Irving rushed 16 times for 68 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers’ Week 16 loss to the Cowboys, adding 24 yards on three receptions.
Irving handily paced the team in backfield opportunities, seeing 16 carries and three targets to the three carries and eight targets for Rachaad White, with the bulk of White’s opportunities coming in the second half with the team in desperation mode. Even so, this backfield remains a strict timeshare between the two, with Irving the favorite to see the most carries and White the favorite to see the most usage through the air. Irving could see heavy usage in Week 17 when the Buccaneers host the Panthers.

Bucky Irving (hip/back) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 16 against the Cowboys.
This is Irving’s first Full Participant designation since suffering his combination hip/back injury in Week 13 so fantasy managers can expect a sizable workload against the Panthers. Irving has been limited to carry totals of four and 15, respectively, over the last two weeks but 20-plus is now within his range of outcomes. He is an RB1 with high-end upside.

Bucky Irving (hip/back) was limited in Thursday’s practice.
Irving has been limited in both practices this week, but these are injuries he has been playing through. Irving was solid in last week’s game against the Chargers, rushing 15 times for 117 yards against one of the league’s top defenses. Assuming he is active for Week 16’s game against the Cowboys, Irving will be a fringe RB1/RB2 in what should be a plus matchup.
