Brian Westbrook is “good” to go this weekend, although his role may be limited.
We’d expect Westbrook’s touches to be limited, certainly under 15. He’s not an attractive RB2, but deserves consideration at a flex position.
  • PHI Running Back
Despite improvement, coach Andy Reid believes it will be a stretch” for Brian Westbrook to play this week.
Expect another Dorsey Levens/Reno Mahe tag team in week nine.
  • PHI Running Back
Brian Westbrook took part in limited practice Wednesday and could be ready for Sunday’s game.
He’s listed as questionable, but it’s a very positive sign he got back on the field. It will be a great sign if he can fully participate by Friday.
  • PHI Running Back
Brian Westbrook practiced again Thursday and said the decision of his status is up to coach Andy Reid.
Westbrook was expected to miss up to 4-6 weeks with a cracked rib. He’s been a fast healer in the past, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see him start this Sunday.
  • PHI Running Back
The Eagles may rest Brian Westbrook down the stretch to get him fresh for the playoffs.
This has to be a worry for owners of all Eagles fantasy players. But we don’t believe Philadelphia will start resting anyone until week 16 at the earliest.
  • PHI Running Back
Brian Westbrook could return punts in the playoffs.
Dexter Wynn and Reno Mahe are the other options.
  • PHI Running Back
The Patriots may devise a game plan to limit Brian Westbrook like they did with Marshall Faulk in the Super Bowl three seasons ago.
New England’s plan to limit Faulk, which involved hitting him on every play, was one of the most famous gameplans in NFL history. The Patriots have a habit of shutting down an oppenent’s greatest weapon. Look for them to focus on Westbrook.
  • PHI Running Back
The agent for Brian Westbrook believes another team may try to sign him away this offseason.
We’re not so sure another team will be willing to give up a first round pick and a big contract for Westbrook, a non-traditional running back.
  • PHI Running Back
The Eagles are expected to offer a long-term contract to Brian Westbrook this month.
Signing him will be tough. Westbrook, a restricted free agent, will surely by tagged with the highest one-year tender, meaning a team would have to give up two draft picks (a first and a third) for him. Westbrook is one of the few players who could inspire another team to give up such a bounty.
  • PHI Running Back
The Eagles will not use Brian Westbrook as a punt returner next season.
Rookies Dexter Wynn and J.R. Reed are the favorites for kickoff duties. Reno Mahe could take the punts. Westbrook will play an increased role in the offense at running back after the departure of Duce Staley. The Eagles naturally have concerns about Westbrook’s durability - so do we.
