Falcons placed WR Brian Finneran (torn ACL) on injured reserve, ending his season.

  • ATL Wide Receiver
Falcons WR Brian Finneran may be lost for 2006 after suffering a “serious” knee injury Sunday night.
“I’m not overly optimistic,” coach Jim Mora said. Don’t underestimate the loss of Finneran on Atlanta’s passing offense. He’s still their best wide receiver-per-play until proven otherwise and Mike Vick’s favorite outlet target. If nothing else, this and Alge Crumpler’s injuries will force Vick to rely on Roddy White and Michael Jenkins. The Falcons are already looking at free agents.

Michael Jenkins will be Atlanta’s No. 3 receiver.
