Giants signed WRs Brandon London and Todd Lowber, K Shane Andrus, LB Rory Johnson, CB Darren Barnett, OLs Brandon Torrey and Na’Shan Goddard, S Andrew Shanle, TE Marcus Freeman, and RB Kay-Jay Harris to reserve/future contracts.
Most of these players, including London, spent last year on the practice squad. Andrus could be a sleeper to start in 2008 with Lawrence Tynes headed to free agency. Johnson played at Ole Miss alongside Patrick Willis.
  • PIT Wide Receiver
Brandon London has not established himself as one of the Dolphins’ top five wideouts this offseason.
Some Dolfans pegged London as a sleeper to start opposite Ted Ginn entering the spring, but he hasn’t stood out. London is in a battle just to make the team as a sixth receiver. He needs to exhibit value in kickoff coverage.
  • MIA Linebacker
    Dolphins released LB William Kershaw.
Kershaw has bounced around the league for the past few seasons; he’s a practice body. The Dolphins also cut ties with DE Rodrique Wright, WR Brandon London, and S Courtney Bryan.
  • PIT Wide Receiver
Dolphins claimed WR Brandon London off waivers from the Giants and waived WR Anthony Armstrong.
London is unlikely to be more than a fifth receiver this year, but is a good prospect to develop. Armstrong will likely go on Miami’s practice squad.
  • PIT Wide Receiver
    Giants waived WR Brandon London.
They chose Sinorice Moss’ draft status over London’s game. London probably also has more upside. He seems sure to get claimed, possibly by Miami.
  • NYG Wide Receiver
Giants WR David Tyree will be out until at least the start of training camp after undergoing knee surgery last week.
This could fuel speculation that Tyree will move to safety in 2008. Tyree, who was on crutches Tuesday, wouldn’t reveal details of the surgery. Sinorice Moss and possibly Brandon London could get increased reps at OTAs.
  • PIT Wide Receiver
Dolphins coach Tony Sparano is a fan of special teamer and wide receiver project Brandon London.
“He’s getting a whole lot better fast,” Sparano said regarding London’s progress as a receiver. Deep Dynasty leaguers should take note as London, though raw, has prototypical size and athleticism with little in the way of talent in front of him.
  • FA Wide Receiver #17
Dolphins coach Tony Sparano confirmed Monday that Greg Camarillo (knee) will miss the rest of the season.
Sparano didn’t explain the extent, saying only “He’s done. Somebody has to pick up the slack.” The Fins will have a hard time replacing Camarillo, who’s 14th in the NFL in catches with 55. Rookie Davone Bess is the best bet to start opposite Ted Ginn Jr. with Brandon London or Ernest Wilford possibly coming in when Miami goes three wide. This will hurt Chad Pennington.
  • PIT Wide Receiver
Steelers signed WR Brandon London and P Adam Graessle.
The Dolphins were intrigued by London’s speed and athleticism last offseason, but the special teamer and potential deep threat didn’t even make the team out of training camp. Still very raw as a receiver, he’s a project for the Steelers.
  • PIT Wide Receiver
Brandon London revealed that the Dolphins recently tendered him a new contract.
London was an exclusive rights free agent, so he couldn’t have left anyways. He’ll make $385,000 in 2009 and be eligible for restricted free agency in 2010. Miami now has five WRs under contract; London, Greg Camarillo, Ted Ginn Jr., Davone Bess, and Ernest Wilford. Wilford will likely be cut shortly.
