  • PHI Punter #10
Steelers claimed P Braden Mann off waivers from the Jets.
Mann has been the Jets’ punter since the team drafted him in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He also handled kickoff duties from time to time, even converting one of the league’s three successful onside kick attempts last year. Mann will compete with Pressley Harvin for Pittsburgh’s punting job this summer.

  • PHI Punter #10
    Jets waived P Braden Mann.
Mann has been the Jets primary punter the last three years, missing seven games in 2021 with a knee injury after being drafted in the sixth round in 2020. Adam Schefter reported that no trade materialized for Mann. He’ll be free to the league on waivers.

  • CAR Running Back #30
Chuba Hubbard caught 2-of-2 targets for 4 yards in the Panthers Week 1 win over the Jets, he did not record a carry.
Hubbard’s most notable play was when he was held on punt coverage and forced into Braden Mann’s plant leg, which ended the Jets punter’s day. On offense, Hubbard was barely involved, mixing in for part of one series in the third quarter as his only extended action. Hubbard holds major contingent value, but has essentially zero fantasy value for as long as McCaffrey is fully healthy.

  • PHI Punter #10
Jets P Braden Mann (left knee) is questionable to return to Week 1 against the Panthers.
Mann left the game after Chuba Hubbard ran into his plant leg during a punt. Hubbard was held during the play, so the penalty was actually on the Jets, forcing a re-kick. That punt and subsequent punts have been handled by K Matt Ammendola. Ammendola has been shockingly good on his punts so far, and has actually improved the Jets’ punt game.

  • PHI Punter #10
    Jets signed sixth-round P Braden Mann to a four-year, $3.47 million contract.
He’ll make a base salary of $654,000 in 2020. Considered the draft’s top punter by both The Athletic’s Dane Brugler and NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein, Mann (5'11/198) also has the leg to serve as a kickoff specialist if coach Adam Gase disperses him there. A frequent boomer of 50-plus yard punts, Mann will earn the Jets’ job so long as he has an training camp.

  • PHI Punter #10
Jets selected Texas A&M P Braden Mann with the No. 191 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

  • PHI Punter #10
NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein writes Texas A&M P Braden Mann “was a premier field-flipper with touch and talent.”
Mann (5'11/198) earned the Ray Guy Award, given to the nation’s best punter, in 2018 before going on to post another solid year in 2019. Zierlein notes Mann is a “good directional punter” and a willing tackler, which sounds like the full package as far as controlling punt situations goes. Mann also has experience as a kickoff specialist. Expect Mann to be one of the few specialist to be drafted.
  • PHI Punter #10
Texas A&M junior P Braden Mann was named the winner of the Ray Guy Award.
Mann (5'11/190) in with the best punter of the season, here. The junior booted his way to an absurd 2,404 yards worth of punts, averaging a silly 51.1 yards per kick.
