Free agent RBs Boston Scott and James Robinson visited the Commanders on Tuesday.
It’s the second known bit of interest for Scott since he was pronounced fully recovered from his torn meniscus before the start of the season. The Commanders are acting like a team that might need yet another back to join Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols as healthy backs on the roster. Wednesday’s injury report will tell us more about Brian Robinson and Austin Ekeler’s status for Week 13.
  • Running Back #33
Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz reports free agent RB Boston Scott “is fully healthy” after recovering from a partially torn meniscus he suffered before the start of the season.
Scott was released from the Steelers in September and has been working his way back from his injury over the last two months. The veteran running back is now hoping to join a team in the coming days and could have plenty of suitors. Scott caught on with the Eagles in 2018 but didn’t start making an offensive impact until 2019. He’s a versatile weapon out of the backfield who has rushed for over 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns in limited roles while also racking up 71 receptions for 566 yards and one touchdown. His skillset should have several teams intrigued as he looks to catch on with a team for the second half of the season. Scott reportedly already has a workout with the Saints on tap.
  • PIT Running Back #30
Steelers signed RB Boston Scott, formerly of the Rams.
Scott was let go by the Rams during final roster cutdowns and now lands with the Steelers. The veteran running back won’t be threatening for offensive snaps any time soon but could earn a look as a returner if somebody were to miss time with an injury. In addition to Scott, the Steelers also signed wide receivers Ben Skowronek and Brandon Johnson to the practice squad.
  • LAR Running Back #35
Rams signed RB Boston Scott to a one-year contract.
The fabled Giant killer played the first six years of his NFL career in Philadelphia but was largely an afterthought the previous two seasons with D’Andre Swift in town. Scott, a diminutive in stature scat back, has made the largest impact on special teams throughout his career, which is likely why he was brought into the Rams organization on a one-year deal. In other words, he is likely best left on the waiver wire for the time being.
  • PHI Running Back #35
Eagles declared RB Boston Scott, DT Moro Ojomo, TE Grant Calcaterra, CB Bradley Roby, QB Tanner McKee, and DE Derek Barnett inactive for Week 9 against the Cowboys.
Scott’s absence should make the Eagles backfield a two-way split, with D’Andre Swift operating as the lead back and Kenneth Gainwell seeing some pass down work and inside-the-ten touches. Swift is a top-10 option against the Dallas rush defense.
  • PHI Running Back #35
Boston Scott (concussion) was not listed on the Eagles’ final injury report for Week 4 against the Commanders.
Scott has been dealing with a concussion but returned to practice on Wednesday on a limited basis. The veteran running back is presumably cleared to play in Week 4 given the final injury report, but isn’t much of a fantasy option with D’Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell earning the majority of the touches right now.
  • PHI Running Back #35
Eagles RB Boston Scott (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice.
Scott missed Week 3 with a concussion. The full session puts him in line to return in Week 4. With D’Andre Swift starting to take over the Eagles’ backfield, Scott will likely be released to special teams work on Sunday.
  • PHI Running Back #35
Eagles declared WR Quez Watkins, QB Tanner McKee, CB Mario Goodrich, RB Boston Scott, OL Tyler Steen, DT Moro Ojomo, and TE Albert Okwuegbunam inactive for Week 3 against the Buccaneers.
Boston Scott is dealing with a concussion, leaving the Eagles to roll with with D’Andre Swift, Kenneth Gainwell, and Rashaad Penny for this one. It was reported on Sunday that the Eagles plan to “ride the hot hand” at running back, meaning any of the three active backs could emerge as the lead ball carrier. Still, we’d expect the majority of touches to be split between Swift and Gainwell.
  • PHI Running Back #35
Eagles ruled RB Boston Scott and WR Quez Watkins out for Monday Night Football against the Buccaneers.
Scott managed a limited session on Saturday but was ultimately unable to make enough progress through the league’s concussion protocol to be cleared to play Monday. The fact that he wasn’t listed as questionable means that there were a significant number of steps left to clear before he could return to the lineup. Watkins remains out with a hamstring injury after not being able to practice in any fashion this week.
  • PHI Running Back #35
Eagles RB Boston Scott (concussion) returned to practice Friday.
Scott missed the Eagles’ first session of the week because of his concussion but appears to be progressing through the league’s concussion protocol quickly. He will return to action primarily as a special teamer if Kenneth Gainwell is also able to suit up. Gainwell missed Week 2 because of a rib injury but has been able to practice this week.
