    Vikings released S Bobby McCain.
McCain joined the Vikings earlier this offseason and worked with defensive coordinator Brian Flores during his days in Miami. McCain played in 10 games last season with the Giants but totaled just one tackle. The 31-year-old safety could make for a nice depth signing, but his days as a starter appear long gone.
  • MIN Safety #21
Vikings signed S Bobby McCain, formerly of the Giants.
McCain played under Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores for two seasons during their time with the Dolphins. Last season, McCain appeared in 10 games as a backup for the Giants, where he totaled one tackle while breaking up one pass. The veteran safety has started 87 of the 131 games he’s appeared in over his career and shouldn’t be viewed as anything more than a depth signing who is familiar with the defensive system.
  • MIN Safety #28
Giants signed DB Bobby McCain, formerly of the Commanders, to a one-year contract.
McCain played 93% of the snaps last year for Washington, but they wanted to give Darrick Forrest a shot at an extended role and released him before free agency started. He signs on with the Giants for a season and will effectively replace Julian Love as their hybrid DB. McCain turns 30 in August and should be a good bet on a one-year deal.

  • MIN Safety #28
    Commanders released DB Bobby McCain.
McCain’s release saves the team $4.42 million, with ESPN’s Adam Schefter reporting that McCain was the “odd man out” with the Commanders having young talent in the secondary. McCain signed a two-year contract with the Commanders in 2022 but will play elsewhere in 2023. McCain is entering his age-30 season but should be able to find a role on another squad.

  • MIN Safety #28
    Commanders re-signed S Bobby McCain to a two-year, $11 million contract.
McCain has been a competent safety since switching over from corner before the 2019 season. He had four interceptions, a pick-six, and nine passes defensed in 2021 despite the struggles around him in the Washington defense. He’ll be penciled in next to Kamren Curl at safety for the second straight season in 2022. McCain turns 29 in August.

  • MIN Safety #28
Washington signed S Bobby McCain, formerly of the Dolphins, to a one-year contract.
28 in August, McCain registered 46 tackles, five passes defensed and one interception across 16 games in his first season back from a torn ACL with Miami last year. It’s possible this move signals the end for either Troy Apke or Landon Collins in Washington.

  • MIN Safety #28
Free agent S Bobby McCain will visit the Washington Football Team on Monday.
It’s a quick visit after McCain was waived by the Dolphins on Thursday. McCain is still only 28 years old (in August), and the Football Team could use some help at the back end. McCain is experienced but largely replacement level at safety.

  • MIN Safety #28
    Dolphins released FS Bobby McCain.
The team will clear $5.66 million in cap space by parting ways with the 27-year-old team captain. McCain bounced back from a season-ending shoulder injury last year, returning to record 46 tackles, five passes defensed and one interception across 16 games, but clearly wasn’t in the team’s long-term plans after Jevon Holland was selected with the No. 36 overall pick. Miami will lean on some combination of Brandon Jones, Eric Rowe, and Holland in the secondary in 2021.

  • MIN Safety #28
Dolphins placed FS Bobby McCain (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.
McCain started nine games for the Dolphins this season, playing 540 largely ineffective snaps on the back end. SS Reshad Jones was also placed on I.R. Wednesday, as the Dolphins signed S Adrian Colbert off the Seahawks’ practice squad ti help replace them. McCain has two years left on his contract.
  • MIN Safety #28
Dolphins CB Bobby McCain (shoulder, hamstring) missed practice Wednesday.
McCain’s now dealing with a hamstring injury to go along with his preexisting shoulder ailment. With S Reshad Jones (ankle) still banged up, the Dolphins could be tasked in limiting Keenan Allen and Mike Williams with perennial backups.
