Titans signed P Josh Miller and released WR Biren Ealy.
The Titans have publicly been optimistic about Craig Hentrich’s back, but it looks like Miller will start for them in the Superdome. Ealy will be added to the practice squad if he makes it through waivers.
  • GB Wide Receiver
Titans signed WR Biren Ealy from their practice squad.
Tennessee now has eight wideouts on its active roster, which can be considered something of a luxury. Ealy probably won’t be up on game days.
  • WAS Wide Receiver
Titans WR Roydell Williams, tied for the team lead in receptions, will miss the playoffs with a broken ankle suffered in Wednesday’s practice.
Titans receiving options are dropping like flies. With Bo Scaife and Brandon Jones already on IR, the Titans will need Ben Troupe, Justin Gage, and Eric Moulds (gulp) to step up Sunday. Williams finished the season with 55 receptions for 719 yards and four touchdowns. He’ll need surgery to repair the ankle. Overall, it was a nice step forward and he’ll have a chance to start again next year.
  • GB Wide Receiver
    Saints waived WR Biren Ealy.
This was an easy decision after Ealy was arrested Sunday for urinating in public and other charges. Ealy went undrafted in 2007 because he had off-field issues during his college career. He may not catch on anytime soon.
  • GB Wide Receiver
Ravens signed WR Biren Ealy, formerly of the Saints.
Ealy offers the size (6'3/207) Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron values in wideouts, but has just one NFL catch and was arrested in May. He’s almost certainly not the answer for Baltimore’s receiver shortage.
  • GB Wide Receiver
Saints WR Biren Ealy and TE Kolomona Kapanui were both arrested early Sunday on several misdemeanor charges.
The men were allegedly urinating in public. When two women saw them and asked them to stop, Ealy allegedly exposed himself and behaved “lewdly.” The charges are “obscenity, disturbing the peace by being drunk in public, and lewd conduct.” The women were so scared that they called 9-1-1.
  • GB Wide Receiver
    Ravens waived/injured WR Biren Ealy.
Ealy was signed as a camp body when the Ravens suffered a string of injuries at wide receiver, but he never had a chance of making the team.
  • BAL Wide Receiver
Brandon Jones has been working as the Titans’ third receiver so far in training camp.
Titans coaches like Jones in the slot, but they also want him to work on his consistency. After finishing two of the past three seasons on injured reserve, the former chic sleeper is a longshot for fantasy value these days.
  • BAL Wide Receiver
The Nashville Tennessean calls Brandon Jones the Titans’ most improved player so far through training camp.
Jones has passed Biren Ealy on the depth chart to emerge as Tennessee’s third receiver, working from the slot between Justin McCareins and Justin Gage. He could be worth a look in-season if one of the starters goes down.
  • GB Wide Receiver
Titans waived WR Biren Ealy, S Calvin Lowry, DT Antonio Johnson, DE Sean Conover, TE Jamie Petrowski, and FB Casey Cramer.
Ealy began camp as Tennessee’s third receiver, but the coaching staff appears to have chosen Roydell Williams over him. Lowry was a fourth safety.
