Buccaneers agreed to terms with OG Ben Bredeson, formerly of the Giants, on a one-year, $3.5 million contract.
Bredeson is a former fourth-round pick of the Ravens, but has spent the last three years with the Giants. Bredeson started 16 games for the Giants last year, spending time at both guard positions and at center. His versatility makes him a coveted player for any team, as he can line up anywhere in a pinch and has ample starting experience with 25 career starts under his belt.
  • NYG Running Back #26
Giants have officially ruled RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) out for Thursday night’s game against the 49ers.
The Giants also ruled out OL Ben Bredeson (concussion), LB Azeez Ojulari (hamstring), and LT Andrew Thomas (hamstring). None of this is unexpected, but it’s still really bad news for New York. Daniel Jones will now have to take on the 49ers’ defense without his Pro Bowl running back and two starting offensive linemen. It could be a long day for Jones and the offense on Thursday night.

The Giants have ruled out G Ben Bredeson in their Week 2 game against the Cardinals.
Bredeson will be replaced by Marcus McKethan as he was ruled out with a concussion. We will keep you updated on this status.

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reports Giants LG LG Ben Bredeson suffered a hand injury in Week 4.
He’s expected to “miss time,” which explains why the team signed G Wes Martin off Washington’s practice said Monday. Assuming Bredeson is sidelined in Week 4, New York will start their fourth left guard in as many games to open the year. It’s a disastrous development considering Nick Gates (leg) and Shane Lemieux (knee) are already on injured reserve.

Giants acquired OG Ben Bredeson from the Ravens.
The Ravens are also sending a 2022 fifth-rounder and 2023 seventh-rounder in exchange for a 2022 fourth-rounder. It means Bredeson will actually stick on the Giants’ 53-man roster. He has certainly arrived to one of the most linemen-needy teams in the entire league. The No. 143 overall pick of last year’s draft, Bredeson made 10 appearances but zero starts as a rookie.

Ravens signed fourth-round OG Ben Bredeson to a four-year contract.
The team also officially signed third-round DT Justin Madubuike, fifth-round DT Broderick Washington, and sixth-round WR James Proche. Bredeson (6’5/315) was a four-year starter at Michigan who earned All-Big Ten honors three times and second-team All-American honors as a senior. He’s a multi-year team captain and very experienced, but his upside is capped by his forgettable physical traits, particularly while moving side to side. In the run game, he’s limited by his range, but he has quality vision and can pack the occasional punch. Bredeson profiles as a future low-end starter and reliable depth option in the NFL given his mental makeup and experience.

Michigan G Ben Bredeson may be limited at the next level by lower-body tightness and athletic limitations according to Dane Brugler of The Athletic.
Bredeson (6'5/325) was a fixture on the offensive line during his time at Michigan, starting for each of his four seasons and serving as a team captain for two of them. He brings good power to the table, but the athletic limitations could be an issue for Bredeson at the next level. “Overall, Bredeson displays the lower body tightness and athletic concerns that likely limit him to a phone booth in the NFL, but he is experienced, strong and tough-minded, showing the starting-level positional traits for a power-running scheme,” Brugler wrote in his analysis. Bredeson projects to be a Day 3 selection in April, with a chance of sneaking into the back end of Day 2.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein compared Michigan G Ben Bredeson to Detroit Lions G Joe Dahl.
“Bredeson is best-suited firing out in a power-based rushing attacking where his disadvantages in space can be mitigated,” Zierlein writes of the 6-foot-5, 325-pound Michigan lineman. He notes that Bredeson “will get dinged for some athletic limitations” but loves the guard’s attitude and leadership skills. Bredeson could potentially see a back-half-of Day 2 selection in April depending on how the rest of the process breaks for him. If not Day 2, early on Day 3.
