Anthony Thomas believes he will be traded this season.
He has no evidence, but A-train certainly isn’t a big part of the Chicago offense right now. Miami makes the most likely destination, but Chicago needs a QB and Miami doesn’t exactly have options. Mid-season trades like these are always a longshot.
  • BUF Running Back
Anthony Thomas returned to practice Monday and will receive carries this Sunday.
"(Thomas) Jones will get the majority of the reps, but we feel like we’ll use two guys,” coach Lovie Smith said. “We don’t know exactly how much right now.” Thomas is worth owning in fantasy leagues in case he gets traded.
  • BUF Running Back
The Bears original offer to the Dolphins for Adewale Oguynleye was RB Anthony Thomas and WR David Terrell.
Even though that proposal would have helped Miami at running back and receiver, they weren’t interested in Terrell. Thomas’ torn oblique muscle might also have had something to do with their insistence upon Booker.
  • BUF Running Back
Coach Lovie Smith said Anthony Thomas (strined oblique) is pain-free and will return to practice next week.
If he was pain free, he’d return to practice this week. Thomas hasn’t practiced all training camp, but will still get a handful of short-yardage carries behind Thomas Jones in Chicago.
  • BUF Running Back
Anthony Thomas is expected to start in week nine and perhaps a few more games.
Thomas Jones is listed as questionable this week, but could be out up to three weeks. Thomas should be a solid flex position option in his place.
  • BUF Running Back
Anthony Thomas revealed Monday that he has been out with a torn oblique muscle.
The team previously called the injury an abdominal strain. Thomas will try to return to practice next week in hopes of being ready for week one. But this is an injury that can linger. We’d downgrade Thomas to the bottom of fantasy drafts now.
  • BUF Running Back
While coach Lovie Smith was addressing the media, a commuter train sped past. ''We hope [Anthony Thomas] is running like that Sunday,’' Smith said.
Consider that comment a significant hint that Thomas Jones will miss another game with his sprained left big toe, while Anthony Thomas looks great to start again.
  • BUF Running Back
Anthony Thomas is likely to get more carries than normal this weekend whether Thomas Jones plays of not.
The Chicago coaching staff has alluded to limiting Jones’ snaps. This makes Thomas a reasonable flex or RB2 play in deep (14-16 teams) leagues.
  • BUF Running Back
Thomas Jones will play this week, but Anthony Thomas “has played well and has proved that he deserves some reps,” coach Love Smith said.
“We feel like we have two tailbacks we can use.” Considering their passing attack, we could see A-Train getting 10-12 carries as a secondary back. That’s probably not worth using in fantasy leagues.
  • BUF Running Back
Anthony Thomas is missing portions of this weekend’s minicamp with a strained groin muscle.
Thomas’ fantasy value has sunk this offseason with the acquisition of Thomas Jones in Chicago.
