    Cowboys waived/injured RB Alonzo Coleman.
Coleman missed most of camp with a knee injury. The two-year practice squad player has some talent but with the three-headed running back monster in Dallas, Coleman never had a chance.
  • FA Quarterback #2
Cowboys released QB Richard Bartel, WR Mark Bradford, WR Mike Jefferson, TE Rodney Hannah, TE Drew Atchison, RB Alonzo Coleman, FB Julius Crosslin, C Ryan Gibbons, OT Cory Lekkerkerker, DE Marcus Smith, DE Marcus Dixon, NT Junior Siavii, NT Remi Ayodele, LB Darrell Robertson, LB Erik Walden, LB Tyson Smith, LB Tearrius George, and S Dowayne Davis.
The Cowboys kept only two quarterbacks, but they could show interest in Chris Simms. They kept eleven offensive linemen and eleven defensive linemen, which could mean a trade is coming.
  • DAL Running Back
Cowboys promoted RB Alonzo Coleman from their practice squad.
He immediately becomes the team’s No. 3 tailback, and will be No. 2 if Marion Barber (toe) is out at Pittsburgh. Coleman went undrafted in 2007 out of Hampton. He has a lot of physical ability, but has never played in an NFL game and is unlikely to play much Sunday even if Tashard Choice starts.
