Saints signed FB Alex Armah, formerly of the Panthers.
Armah has only 29 career touches, but he was regarded as one of the league’s better lead blockers in Carolina. He will be replacing Mike Burton in New Orleans. H-back sized at 6-foot-2, Armah could have a slightly bigger offensive role for the Saints.

  • FA Running Back #23
Panthers RBs Trenton Cannon and Alex Armah will back up Mike Davis in Week 5 against the Falcons.
Christian McCaffrey (ankle) is still at least one week away from his return and Reggie Bonnafon (ankle) was placed on IR. That leaves Cannon and Armah behind Davis for Week 5. It’s a good indication that Davis will continue to serve as the team’s workhorse. Cannon is an OK waiver add in deep leagues.

  • Running Back #40
Panthers selected West Georgia DE/FB Alexander Armah with the No. 192 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
A two-way player, Armah (6'2/235) was announced as a fullback. Primarily a tight end on offense in the Gulf South Conference, Armah will be making one of the biggest adjustments of any player in the draft. He’s a project who will probably begin his NFL career on the practice squad.
  • Running Back #40
Panthers promoted FB Alexander Armah from the practice squad.
A combination fullback/defensive end for West Georgia, 6-foot-2, 235-pound Armah was the No. 192 overall pick of the draft. With Greg Olsen on injured reserve and Ed Dickson ticketed for more pass-catching duties, Armah will help out in the blocking department.
