Aaron Gibson lined up as the Bills starting right tackle in practice last week.
Gibson, a 1999 first-round pick by the Lions, may have the best shot of a slew of retread veteran linemen Buffalo signed this offseason at making the team. Incumbent starter Jason Peters hasn’t practiced.
  • BUF Tackle
Aaron Gibson isn’t considered a lock to make the Bears’ roster.
When camp began, the belief was that Gibson could man right tackle, allowing John Tait to move to left tackle. The 375-pounder has been slowed by knee soreness, and the Bears might prefer to take a chance on a promising rookie such as Rob Droege rather than keep Gibson in the final slot.
  • BUF Tackle
Bills signed T Aaron Gibson to a one-year contract.
Gibson, a 1999 first-round pick of the Lions, was last in football in 2004 with the Bears. He played under Dick Jauron in Chicago.
  • BUF Tackle
Bills released T Aaron Gibson, WR Chris Denney, DE Joshua Cooper, DB James Bethea, DB Rob Lee, and K Nicholas Setta.
Gibson is a mild surprise after running as a primary backup for much of the off-season. Rian Lindell will be Buffalo’s kicker once again.
