  • Willie Cauley-Stein signed a deal with the Rockets on Sunday.
He was with the team earlier this season, and he’ll head into the summer with them. This won’t impact fantasy basketball.

  • According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Rockets are signing Willie Cauley-Stein to a 10-day contract.
The sixth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Cauley-Stein was in training camp with the Rockets before being waived on October 15. Since then, he’s played for the team’s G League affiliate, averaging 6.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.9 blocks in 24.1 minutes per game (16 appearances). This move is unlikely to impact fantasy basketball.

  • Willie Cauley-Stein was waived by the Rockets on Saturday.
Cauley-Stein joined Houston on a training camp deal in August. He was one of a few veteran centers behind Alperen Sengun that weren’t expected to have any fantasy impact this season. Cauley-Stein should be able to find a new team, but it’s unlikely that he finds any playing time this season.

  • Willie Cauley-Stein has signed a one-year deal with the Rockets and will compete for a roster spot in training camp according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
After spending the first four years of his career with Sacramento, WCS has appeared for three different teams in three seasons, most recently splitting time between Dallas and Philly across 20 games in 2021-22. Even if he makes the roster, it’s unlikely Cauley-Stein makes any sort of fantasy impact behind Alperen Sengun.

  • The 76ers plan to release Willie Cauley-Stein once DeAndre Jordan clears waivers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Cauley-Stein’s 10-day contract with the 76ers will expire soon, and he hasn’t seen much time since joining the team. With Jordan expected to sign with the 76ers once he clears waivers, the team will need to free up a spot on the active roster. That leaves Cauley-Stein as the odd man out in a move that will not have an impact as far as fantasy is concerned.

  • Doc Rivers said Tuesday that he anticipates using Willie Cauley-Stein more in games because they need a rim protector.
Well the Sixers already have one of the best rim protectors in the league in Joel Embiid. However, when Embiid is off the floor, Cauley-Stein is really their only other option as a center. It’s unlikely he plays enough minutes to really make an impact in fantasy hoops, but he should play a key role for the Sixers. If Embiid misses any games, WCS should make for a solid streaming option.

  • Willie Cauley-Stein will join the Philadelphia 76ers on a 10-day contract Tuesday.
Cauley-Stein is the only true center behind Joel Embiid, so he could have a solid role off the bench if he earns it. He hasn’t played a game since Nov. 27 so he could be rusty. Leave him on the waivers until he proves otherwise.

  • The Dallas Mavericks have waived Willie Cauley-Stein in order to sign Marquese Chriss to a two-year deal, Shams Charania reported.
Cauley-Stein hasn’t played since November 27th due to personal reasons, so he likely wasn’t a factor in any fantasy leagues anyway. He wasn’t providing a ton of fantasy value before his extended absence began anyway.

  • Willie Cauley-Stein (personal reasons) will remain sidelined Sunday against the Bulls.
Cauley-Stein hasn’t played since Nov. 27 due to a personal matter, and there’s still no timeline for his return.

  • Willie Cauley-Stein (personal reasons) has been ruled out for Monday’s game against the Blazers.
Cauley-Stein still does not have a timeline for return, and he hasn’t been all that valuable when active. Leave him on the waiver wire.
