  • DET Point Guard #6
Celtics sign point guard Will Bynum to a two-year contract.
He may make the final roster, but it’s a long shot. Danny Ainge is also said to be in serious talks to acquire free agent Dan Dickau as well. Current starting point guard Delonte West’s extensive injury history apparently has Ainge thinking he can’t have too many point guards, as the Celtics still have Marcus Banks as well.
  • DET Point Guard #6
Will Bynum returned from a personal leave and had four points in 11 minutes on Tuesday.
He’s an afterthought as long as the other Detroit guards are healthy.
  • DET Shooting Guard #2
Rodney Stuckey left Wednesday’s game in the first quarter with a sore left hamstring and will not return.
Will Bynum replaced him in the lineup, and fantasy owners have to hope this isn’t as bad as it sounds. We’ll call him day-to-day for now, but with Stuckey’s injury and Ben Gordon’s groin injury, Bynum could have a big game tonight.
  • CLE Shooting Guard #15
Austin Daye came off the bench for eight points, two rebounds, two assists, two steals, two blocks and a 3-pointer in 29 minutes Wednesday.
He started the second half after Rodney Stuckey left with a hamstring injury, and could be in line for more minutes going forward. Will Bynum also came alive with eight points, three rebounds and a steal on 3-of-9 shooting. Both players are worth a look if Stuckey is going to miss much time, but it’s tough to tell which player might benefit most. Since Daye was the second-half starter, we’re going to give the nod to him.
  • DET Shooting Guard #2
Rodney Stuckey’s (hamstring) status for Friday’s game against the Bulls is uncertain.
Stuckey suffered a hamstring injury on Wednesday night and did not return to the game after leaving in the first quarter. With Ben Gordon also nursing a sore groin, Will Bynum and Austin Daye stand to see increased minutes if neither Stuckey nor Gordon can play.
  • DET Point Guard #6
Will Bynum scored 15 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 7-of-12 shots (including a three) with four rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block in 26 minutes.
Owners should just watch Bynum for now, but the real concern here is the full workload for Brandon Knight. Knight has been playing very tentatively and it has opened the window for Bynum, or at least it did tonight.
  • DET Point Guard #6
Will Bynum won’t play Wednesday due to personal reasons.
No word yet on how long he’ll be away from the team, but Bynum has become an afterthought in fantasy leagues, averaging just 5.0 points in 14 games this season.
  • DET Point Guard #6
Pistons guard Will Bynum scored 17 points against the Bobcats on Saturday, making 5-of-9 FGs (one 3-pointer) and 6-of-9 FTs.
Bynum added two rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes, but here are three reasons you should ignore this outburst: 1) he’s averaging 5.0 points this season, 2) the Bobcats have the league’s third-worst defense by points allowed, and 3) he only played this much due to the absence of Ben Gordon (groin) and Rodney Stuckey (hamstring), both of whom are day-to-day.
  • DET Point Guard #6
Will Bynum missed all eight of his field goal attempts on Friday against the Bulls.
Bynum played 12 minutes and had just three rebounds to his credit. There was some question about whether or not he could step into the void created by Ben Gordon and Rodney Stuckey, and that was answered tonight.
  • DET Shooting Guard #2
Rodney Stuckey (hamstring) and Ben Gordon (groin) have both been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Bulls.
An earlier report from Keith Langlois of Pistons.com had both players as “nearly certain” to sit out, and now comes word that neither guard will play. Austin Daye is starting, and both he and Will Bynum are candidates to see a big rise in minutes.
