Vlade Divac is reportedly stepping down as the Kings GM.
Joe Dumars, who served in an advisory role under Divac, will now take over as the interim GM and help the team find their next general manager. The 2020 NBA Draft is scheduled for October 16, so it would make sense to put a new GM in place by then, but this Sacramento franchise isn’t exactly known for always making the wisest decisions. There are some conflicting reports about how safe Luke Walton is in his head coaching role, but given the obvious step back the club took this season, he has to be feeling nervous.

Now that Vlade Divac is no longer in Sacramento, Kings’ coach Rick Adelman is calling Vlade’s patented moves illegal.
“He definitely flops,” Adelman said. “He moves on picks. He does a lot of stuff that’s illegal.” The Lakers and Kings square off tonight, so this should be a fun dynamic to watch.

Vlade Divac, who continues to limp on his sprained right ankle, is contemplating retirement after this season.
Divac, 35, is in the final year of his contract with Sacramento. He’s weighing options ranging from retirement to signing as a free agent at a lower salary to playing in Europe next season. ''A lot depends on how I feel and how the year goes,’' said Divac.

It is unknown how many games Vlade Divac will have to miss with bronchitis.
Vlade missed last night’s game in Phoenix, and should be considered day-to-day. The Kings should be able to get past Toronto tonight without him, and hope to have him for Dallas on Sunday.

Vlade Divac said Thursday that the Kings, Lakers, Clippers and Suns have shown legitimate interest in him.
Divac currently ranks the Kings fourth of the four teams. They may want him to play for as little as $2.5 million.

The Kings would like to re-sign Vlade Divac, but they may let him go in order to avoid paying the luxury tax for a third year in a row.
The Lakers will become suitors for Divac if the 36-year-old can’t agree to terms with the Kings.
