According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Grizzlies have waived Victor Oladipo.
Due to persistent issues with his patellar tendon, Oladipo has not appeared in a game this season. Hopefully, he can return to the court at some point, but this transaction will not impact fantasy basketball.
  • MEM Shooting Guard #3
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Grizzlies have acquired Victor Oladipo and three future second-round picks from the Rockets.
This deal won’t impact fantasy basketball, as neither Oladipo (ruptured patellar tendon) nor Adams (knee) has appeared in a game this season. In addition to Oladipo’s expiring contract, the Grizzlies will receive three future second-round picks.
  • FA Point Guard #3
The Thunder traded for Kevin Porter Jr. and two second-round picks in exchange for Victor Oladipo and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and have immediately waived KPJ, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Houston had already told KPJ that he wouldn’t be allowed on their team, so it is a tad surprising that the Thunder were able to acquire two more draft picks to take him and waive him while also offloading two contracts. KPJ had one of his assault charges dropped, but he is still facing another assault charge and a charge of strangulation. Oladipo and Robinson-Earl won’t be big parts of Houston’s rotation this season, but they will bring a veteran presence, which the Rockets have been intentional about adding this offseason.
  • OKC Shooting Guard #4
On Wednesday, Thunder president of basketball operations Sam Presti said that Victor Oladipo (knee) will not be present when the team begins training camp next week.
Oladipo has struggled mightily to remain healthy since rupturing the quad tendon in his right knee in 2019. The most significant injury since then was a ruptured patellar tendon in his left knee in late April during Game 4 of Miami’s first-round series against the Bucks. With the Thunder having a roster loaded with young talent that needs to play, there would not have been much room for Oladipo had he been fully healthy. In fact, Presti also said during his press conference that the team will have to make a decision on Oladipo’s contract when the time comes. So, don’t expect to see him in a Thunder jersey once medically cleared to play.
  • OKC Shooting Guard #4
The Heat have traded Victor Oladipo to the Thunder, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The Heat picked up Vic’s player option just three days ago, and now they’re swinging his contract to Oklahoma City, where he played during the 2016-17 season. Oladipo will provide a veteran presence to a young OKC squad while he recovers from knee surgery, and the Thunder acquired future draft capital for taking on his contract. This move should also help clear cap space for the Heat, which could potentially set up another move.
  • MIA Shooting Guard #4
Victor Oladipo has picked up his $9.4 million player option with the Heat, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
With how many injuries he has suffered over the past several seasons, Oladipo wasn’t going to be able to fetch this much money on the open market, so it comes as no surprise that he’ll remain with Miami. He tore his patellar tendon in his left knee during the playoffs, so there’s no real timetable for his return, but it seems incredibly unlikely that he’s ready for opening night.
  • FA Shooting Guard #4
Victor Oladipo underwent a successful surgery to repair the patellar tendon in his left knee on Thursday, according to a team announcement.
Oladipo was already ruled out for the rest of the season after injuring his knee during their first round matchup with the Bucks. With how many injuries he’s dealt with, it’s not out of the question for him to remain sidelined for the start of next season. The team said there currently isn’t a timetable for his return. They’ll continue to rely on Max Strus and Duncan Robinson to play big minutes.

  • FA Shooting Guard #4
Victor Oladipo suffered a torn patellar tendon in his left knee and will miss the rest of the 2023 playoffs, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Dipo has been a solid role player for Miami this season, as he logged 26.3 minutes per game across 42 appearances. Just when things were looking up for the former All-Star, he sustained yet another serious injury. Over the past five seasons, Dipo has averaged just under 28 games played per season.

  • FA Shooting Guard #4
Victor Oladipo exited Saturday’s Game 3 against the Bucks during the fourth quarter after suffering a left knee injury.
Oladipo injured his left knee on a drive to the basketball with 3:56 remaining in the fourth quarter and appeared to know instantly that something was wrong. After remaining down on the court for a few minutes, he was able to walk back to the locker room with assistance. Hopefully, the injury doesn’t prove to be as serious as feared by Oladipo and the Heat. Following the game, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said he did not know the severity of the injury and that the team will learn more on Sunday.

  • PHI Point Guard #7
Kyle Lowry (left knee soreness) is available for Tuesday’s play-in game against Atlanta.
It’s unclear what kind of role Lowry will play in Tuesday’s tilt with the Hawks, but it’s likely he sees 20-25 minutes. His availability will likely mean less playing time and usage for the likes of Gabe Vincent and Victor Oladipo.
