Daniel Theis (return to competition reconditioning) has been ruled out for Saturday’s matchup with New York.
Theis was originally questionable due to personal reasons, then he was upgraded to available, and now he is too out of shape to play yet after a one-game absence. Trey Jemison should fill out the backup center minutes, but he won’t be worth streaming.

Daniel Theis (personal reasons) has been cleared to play against New York on Saturday.
Theis was initially listed as questionable after not being with the team in their previous game, but he’ll be available for this one. He’ll fill out the backup center minutes behind Yves Missi, but Theis won’t be worth rostering.

Daniel Theis (personal reasons) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Knicks.
Theis was not with the team for Thursday’s loss to the Rockets, resulting in Trey Jemison serving as Yves Missi’s backup. That would remain the case if Theis does not play against the Knicks. While there’s no need to consider streaming Jemison, Missi remains available in over 60% of Yahoo leagues.
  • Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (illness)and Javonte Green (left ankle soreness) have been ruled out for Thursday’s Pelicans Kings game.
Robinsnon-Earl is out with an illness after logging 19 minutes in the Pelicans’ last game while Green is set to miss a second consecutive contest. Daniel Theis and Trey Jemsion are in line to get more burn as backup centers while a host of wings will hope to chip in during Green’s absence.
  • NOP Center #10
Daniel Theis (neck spasms) has been ruled out for Sunday’s Pelicans-Spurs game.
Theis is set to miss a third straight game with neck spasms. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Trey Jemison have a chance to contribute during the spot minutes they get behind Yves Missi.
  • Yves Missi is questionable for Wednesday’s matchup with the Cavaliers due to left shoulder soreness.
Missi joins nine other Pelicans on a wildly long injury list for the second game of a back-to-back set. Trey Jemison and Daniel Theis would likely soak up New Orleans’ center minutes if Missi is ultimately sidelined.
  • NOP Center #55
According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Pelicans have claimed Trey Jemison off of waivers.
The Grizzlies waived Jemison on Wednesday, as the team needed to free up a two-way contract slot for Jay Huff. He is reportedly headed to New Orleans on an unspecified deal two days later. Whether or not Jemison can become relevant to fantasy basketball remains to be seen, but there may be an opportunity to compete for minutes. After losing Jonas Valanciunas in free agency, the Pelicans signed Daniel Theis and Karlo Matkovic. The team also selected Yves Missi in the first round of the June draft, and all three are expected to compete for the right to start.
  • MEM Center #30
The Grizzlies announced on Wednesday that they have signed Jay Huff to a two-way contract.
The 7-foot-1 Huff is on the move after spending last season with the Nuggets on a two-way contract. He’s appeared in 31 NBA games for the Nuggets, Wizards, and Lakers, with the majority of his minutes coming in the G League. Huff’s addition will not impact fantasy basketball, as the Grizzlies have Jaren Jackson Jr., Zach Edey, and Brandon Clarke among their frontcourt options. To make room for Huff, the Grizzlies waived Trey Jemison.
  • MEM Center #55
Trey Jemison led Memphis with 20 points (9-of-12 FGs), seven rebounds and one assist in an 80-77 loss to Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
Jemison made 25 appearances for the Grizzlies last season, where he averaged 6.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 blocks per game. With Memphis healthier heading into next season, Jemison likely won’t play as often as he did during his rookie year. However, if he continues to play like he did in this game, he may creep into the rotation to provide center depth behind Zach Edey, who sat out this game.
  • MEM Power Forward #15
Brandon Clarke played 27 minutes in Tuesday’s loss to San Antonio, tallying 14 points (7-of-12 FGs), one rebound, one steal, and one blocked shot.
Clarke’s production was modest outside of the point total, but the fact that he was in the starting lineup is more noteworthy. Tuesday’s game was his first start since returning from a ruptured Achilles tendon, and the Grizzlies’ many injury-related absences are why the opportunity presented itself. With Memphis scheduled to visit Cleveland on Wednesday, Clarke may sit out that contest for injury management reasons. Trey Jemison (14/9/2/1/1 in 30 minutes) and GG Jackson (11/4/2/0/1 with two 3-pointers in 28 minutes) will continue to log starters’ minutes for the rest of the season.
