Dejounte Murray (lower back soreness) will play in Thursday’s game against the Celtics.
Murray has officially been cleared to play after the Hawks considered him questionable. As a result, there will not be an increase in playing time for Trent Forrest. Feel free to leave him on the waiver wire.

Dejounte Murray (lower back soreness) is questionable to play against Boston on Thursday.
Murray played through this back issue on Wednesday, but it didn’t limit his production whatsoever. However, if he sits out this game, there will be plenty of open minutes to be filled. Trent Forrest will likely fill that void and could provide decent value in extended minutes, especially with only two games being played. Bogdan Bogdanovic and Vit Krejci would likely take on the playmaking duties.

Dejounte Murray (lower back soreness) will play against Portland on Wednesday.
Murray was initially listed as questionable, but he will be good to go for this game. This is the first night of a back-to-back, so this is certainly something to keep in mind ahead of their matchup with Boston on Thursday, which is one of just two games. Due to the amount of injuries they’re dealing with, it is unclear who will start in his place if he sits out, though Bogdan Bogdanovic, De’Andre Hunter and Vit Krejci will all be forced to take on more responsibility as playmakers.
  • ATL Point Guard #5
Dejounte Murray (lower back soreness) is questionable for Wednesday’s matchup with the Trail Blazers.
Murray played 41 minutes in Monday’s stunning comeback win over Boston. With Trae Young (finger) sidelined, the Hawks would have another massive hole to fill if Dejounte cannot play against Portland. Trent Forrest would be next in line, but the lackluster production makes him a risky streaming proposition.
  • ATL Point Guard #5
Dejounte Murray (left calf contusion) is probable for Sunday’s game against New Orleans.
Murray is probable for Sunday’s game, which suggests he will ultimately be cleared to play. If not, Trent Forrest could move into the starting lineup, with more minutes available to Garrison Mathews and Wesley Matthews. Neither Mathews nor Matthews would be worth the trouble as a deep-league streamer.
  • ATL Point Guard #4
Kobe Bufkin (left big toe sprain) is wearing a walking boot and will be re-evaluated in 10 days.
Initially listed as having a sore big toe, Bufkin has been diagnosed with a sprain. It’s the same injury Onyeka Okongwu is currently dealing with, so the recovery play should be similar. Bufkin’s absence moves Trent Forrest into the backup point guard role, but he is not worth streaming.
  • ATL Point Guard #4
Kobe Bufkin (left big toe soreness) has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Knicks.
Bufkin has averaged just over 16 minutes per tilt since the All-Star break, and his absence should free up some additional playing time for Trent Forrest and Garrison Mathews. Neither player, however, is worth streaming for fantasy hoops.
  • ATL Point Guard #4
Kobe Bufkin (left big toe soreness) is questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Knicks.
While Bufkin has only appeared in nine games this season, he was moved into the rotation after Trae Young suffered a left hand injury in late February. The presence of Dejounte Murray as the starting point guard limits Bufkin’s upside, but those minutes would need to be filled if the rookie sits. Trent Forrest would be in the mix to handle those responsibilities, but he is not worth streaming.
  • FA Point Guard #8
The Atlanta Hawks have waived Patty Mills and will use the roster spot to convert Trent Forrest’s two-way contract to a standard deal.
Mills has appeared in just 19 games this season, averaging just over 10 minutes per tilt. His impact has been negligible, and Atlanta will turn to Forrest in the wake of Trae Young’s latest injury. Forrest has played similar minutes to Mills, but he’s 10 years younger and gives a disappointing Atlanta team the chance to evaluate a player who’s been buried on the depth chart for the better part of two seasons.
  • ATL Shooting Guard #2
Trent Forrest has used up his 50 two-way games for this NBA season, which means that he won’t suit up for Atlanta for the remainder of the regular season.
Per the league’s rules, players on two-way contracts are only eligible to be available for 50 NBA games and maintain two-way status, so he will spend the rest of the regular season with the College Park Skyhawks. Atlanta only had nine players available for Saturday’s game against Houston, which will likely force Kobe Bufkin and AJ Griffin to play rotation minutes. Aside from that, this won’t impact fantasy hoops this season.
