Miles Bridges has been diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right knee and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Injured during the fourth quarter for Wednesday’s win over the Pistons, Bridges had already been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Pacers. He’ll miss at least two weeks before being re-evaluated by doctors. Cody Martin is the player most likely to move into the starting lineup and would be worth streaming in deep leagues. Bridges’ absence also preserves some of Tre Mann’s value, as the Hornets need his scoring ability.
  • CHA Point Guard #1
LaMelo Ball (right ankle soreness) will play against the Pistons on Wednesday.
We’ve avoided the injury scare, but that doesn’t mean fantasy managers should relax. Ball’s career has been plagued by ankle injuries, and his health should absolutely be monitored moving forward. He’ll start and play his usual role in this game, which means that Tre Mann will continue to come off the bench.
  • CHA Point Guard #1
LaMelo Ball (right ankle soreness) is listed as questionable for the Hornets’ home game against the Pistons on Wednesday.
Ball unexpectedly popped up on the injury report after a poor showing against the Timberwolves his last time out. He hasn’t missed a game this season, but Tre Mann could thrive if given the chance to step into the starting lineup.
  • CHA Shooting Guard #23
Tre Mann amassed 23 points (10-of-18 FGs), four rebounds, five assists, one block, and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Celtics.
Mann continues to put up numbers off the bench, and he’s doing so efficiently. Having scored 23 points or more in three of five games, the fourth-year guard has been a top-50 player despite coming off the bench. Given his importance to the Hornets, Mann is still rostered in 41% of Yahoo leagues, which is too low.
  • CHA Small Forward #24
Brandon Miller (left glute strain) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Celtics.
Miller has been out since Charlotte’s season opener in Houston. His absence resulted in more minutes for Tre Mann, and he’s flourished in a reserve role. Mann would remain in the rotation if Miller returns, and he’s worth holding onto in deeper leagues.
  • CHA Shooting Guard #23
Tre Mann logged 28 minutes in Wednesday’s win over the Raptors, accumulating 28 points (10-of-19 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), one rebound, four assists, two steals, and four 3-pointers.
Mann has surpassed 20 points in two of Charlotte’s first four games, with Wednesday’s performance being the best. He’s reached double figures in all four, and it would not be too much of a gamble to roster Mann. Rostered in 34% of Yahoo leagues, he’s providing top 100 per-game value. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to ride the wave for now, even if there’s skepticism regarding Mann’s ability to play this well for an entire season.
  • CHA Point Guard #1
LaMelo Ball (tailbone contusion) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Heat.
Saturday’s game will be the Hornets’ second in as many nights as they lost to the Hawks on Friday. Ball’s landing on the injury report isn’t great, as an absence would leave a significant void in the starting lineup. Tre Mann and Vasa Micic would take on enhanced roles if LaMelo cannot play, with the former already having streaming value due to Brandon Ingram’s absence.
  • CHA Small Forward #24
NBA reporter Chris B. Haynes reports that Brandon Miller (left glute strain) will be re-evaluated in a week.
Miller sustained the injury in Wednesday’s opener against Houston, and he’ll be out until at least November 1. That means Miller will miss Charlotte’s next three games at minimum with a chance to return for one or both of the team’s back-to-back games against Boston on November 1 and November 2. Miller’s absence freed up additional playing time for Tre Mann (24 points, six rebounds, four triples in 29 minutes) and Seth Curry (seven points, two rebounds, two triples in 26 minutes), though Mann is the preferred streamer for as long as Miller is out.
  • CHA Shooting Guard #23
Tre Mann provided a boost off the bench with 24 points (8-of-16 FGs), six rebounds, one assist and four 3-pointers against Houston.
The clear sixth man for Charlotte, Mann was able to carry over some of his success from last season and make a scoring impact off the bench in this one. Mann is rostered in just 7% of Yahoo leagues, but a performance like this will certainly make him an appealing streaming option on the wire. Brandon Miller exited early from this game with a hip injury, and if he misses more time, Mann will continue to have a large offensive role moving forward. He may not start in place of Miller, but Mann should play a significant role off the bench this season.
  • CHA Small Forward #24
Brandon Miller (left hip soreness) will not return to Wednesday’s game against the Rockets.
Miller is still primed for a big second season, but it will be delayed for at least one game. Tre Mann will likely slide into Miller’s spot to open the second half, and if Miller ends up missing more than the rest of this game, Mann will be an excellent streaming option.
