AJ Lawson had 32 points (9-of-21 FGs), 12 rebounds, one steal and seven 3-pointers against the Wizards on Monday.

Lawson, who is still on a two-way contract, has played at least 26 minutes in four straight games. His 32 points are by far his highest mark this season. Lawson made nine shots from the field with seven of them coming from behind the 3-point line. While the scoring is likely an outlier, the increase in playing time appears that it could stick and that would be his path to fantasy relevancy.

Scottie Barnes had 14 points (6-of-19 FGs), 13 rebounds and two assists against the Wizards on Monday.

Barnes has now had a double-double in three of the last four games. The 23-year-old small forward was hardly efficient scoring with 14 points on 19 shots. His assist numbers have taken a hit over the last few weeks as Barnes hasn’t had at least seven assists in a game since February 12. He’s provided third-round value over the last two weeks, but Barnes could see rest days down the stretch on a Raptors team looking towards next season already.

RJ Barrett had 14 points (6-of-18 FGs), 10 rebounds, eight assists and one 3-pointer in the Raptors’ 119-104 victory over the Wizards on Monday.

Barrett sat out last Friday with rest as the Raptors are looking ahead to this year’s draft. The 24-year-old small forward was back on the floor Monday and finished just two assists shy of a triple-double. Barrett wasn’t efficient on offense with 14 points on 18 shots, but he still dished out eight assists. He played just 27 minutes against the Wizards. Going forward, the Raptors could elect to pull Barrett late in games when he’s available, which is a concerning development for fantasy managers.

Jamison Battle (nose) is out for the remainder of Monday’s game against the Wizards.

Battle aggravated a nasal injury he suffered in late February during the first half of Monday’s game and is done for the night. He played 12 minutes off the bench and finished with five points, three rebounds and one three-pointer. Battle’s absence will not impact fantasy basketball, but it will likely mean more playing time for Jared Rhoden and AJ Lawson.

TOR Shooting Guard #8

Immanuel Quickley, Jared Rhoden, RJ Barrett, Scottie Barnes and Orlando Robinson will start against the Wizards on Monday.

Rhoden, who is currently on a two-way contract after initially signing with Toronto on a 10-day deal, will make the first start of his career. He’ll replace AJ Lawson in the opening group after he started Toronto’s last two games. Robinson will also return to the starting lineup in place of Jakob Poeltl, who is getting a rest night.
Ochai Agbaji

Ochai Agbaji (ankle) has not been cleared for contact but is progressing in his recovery.

Agbaji injured his ankle on February 28, and it’s unknown when he’ll be cleared to play in games again. While Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic said the third-year forward is progressing in his recovery, he has not been cleared for contact. Also, the Raptors will ramp up Agbaji’s activity slowly, so there’s a chance he won’t be healthy in time to impact the end of the fantasy basketball season. Ja’Kobe Walter and Jamal Shead will continue to play rotation minutes as Gradey Dick (knee) is also out.

Gradey Dick (knee) is still a week away from an official update, but he has been able to do some shooting and running.

Nothing has changed in Dick’s timeline, and he is still set to be re-evaluated around March 18. He has missed Toronto’s last three games and will miss at least five more. Rookie Ja’Kobe Walter will continue to start in place of Dick, especially with Ochai Agbaji (ankle) still not cleared for contact.

Ja’Kobe Walter (quad) is out for Monday’s game against the Wizards.

Walter will miss a second-straight game due to a strained right quad. Jared Rhoden and Jamison Battle played more than 20 minutes in Saturday’s loss to the Wizards and should do the same on Monday. While worthy of a look in extremely deep leagues, neither player is a must-add.

After playing 24 minutes in Saturday’s loss to the Wizards, Poeltl will sit out the rematch. His absence likely means Orlando Robinson moves into the starting lineup, and he’s worth a look in deep leagues as a potential streamer.

Jamal Shead finished Saturday’s loss to Washington with 11 points, five rebounds, nine assists, a steal and a triple across 29 minutes.

Shead had a solid performance in this one, but he’ll be most remembered for his play in the closing seconds. With just over two seconds left, Shead nearly cost his team the ball by shuffling his feet as the inbounder. He went from hero to goat almost instantly by hitting a would-be game-winning shot at the buzzer, but a review from the refs showed that his fingertips were still on the ball while the clock read triple zeroes. There will be no love lost when these two teams meet again on Monday.
