Scottie Wilbekin will play summer league with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Wilbekin last played with Darüşşafaka & Doğuş of the Turkish Basketball Super League, but will now attempt to work his way back into the NBA. We’ll keep an eye on the 23-year-old over the summer, but he can be ignored in all fantasy leagues at this point.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #25
Scottie Wilbekin has agreed to a four-year deal with the 76ers.
Wilbekin has been solid in Las Vegas and even dropped 26 points with six 3-pointers in a game vs. the Knicks on July 14. The 76ers also recently signed Pierre Jackson, so the point guard position battle is going to be a lot of fun to watch at training camp. As with any player who makes the 76ers roster, Wilbekin is worth keeping an eye on.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #25
Free agent Scottie Wilbekin poured in 26 points for the 76ers on Tuesday, draining 7-of-12 shots with six 3-pointers, three boards, three assists and only one turnover in 35 minutes.
Wilbekin took full advantage of Pierre Jackson’s absence, giving the Sixers’ front office plenty to think about as Summer League progresses. The 22-year-old played in Greece last year, averaging 8.0 points, 2.3 boards and 3.9 assists while making 37.0 percent of his 3-pointers. He’s worth keeping an eye on in case he makes Philly’s roster, as the point guard position is a free-for-all.
  • DAL Point Guard #55
The 76ers are expected to only keep three point guards to start the season.
This is a tricky situation with Tony Wroten (knee) and Kendall Marshall (knee) both recovering from January ACL tears. If both of those two are even close to a go, that would likely mean Pierre Jackson, Isaiah Canaan, Scottie Wilbekin and T.J. McConnell are fighting for one spot. While Pierre was wonderful in the D-League back in 2014, he wasn’t quite the same player at Summer League. Canaan is probably the favorite right now.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #25
The 76ers have announced the signing of G Scottie Wilbekin.
Wilbekin received a four-year deal from the 76ers, so it’s clear that Philly liked what they saw during the summer league. The 76ers have an interesting mix of players at point guard with Isaiah Canaan, Tony Wroten, Pierre Jackson and Wilbekin all vying for minutes, so this is definitely something to keep an eye on during training camp.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #25
The 76ers will waive Scottie Wilbekin.
There are more moves to come, but Christian Wood will make the team. Wilbekin is an undersized shooting guard and his transition to point guard was not easy. He will likely light it up in the D-League.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #25
Scottie Wilbekin (sprained right ankle) practiced at 80 percent intensity on Monday.
Wilbekin sprained his ankle just a few days ago, so the fact that he’s already progressing at this rate is a very promising sign. Even if he makes the final roster, Wilbekin is not expected to serve as a featured player.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #25
Scottie Wilbekin scored 21 points on 7-of-10 from the field on Friday against the Wizards with five rebounds, one assist and four 3-pointers.
He has a game-winner on his preseason resume, but Wilbekin is kind of in a bad spot. He’s more of an undersized shooting guard and his skills as a point guard aren’t translating yet. The odds are against him to make the team.
  • MIL Point Guard #7
76ers head coach Brett Brown said that Isaiah Canaan and Scottie Wilbekin could play some shooting guard if they make the final roster.
The 76ers will keep at least three point guards including injured players Kendall Marshall and Tony Wroten, while T.J. McConnell has been very impressive and should make the squad as well. Canaan and Wilbekin could both be in the rotation early on if they make the final cuts, but this situation is too tricky for owners in standard leagues to rely on.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #25
Scottie Wilbekin (ankle) practiced at 50 percent intensity on Sunday.
The 76ers plan on making their final cuts on Monday, and Wilbekin isn’t a lock to make the roster by any means. This ankle injury certainly hasn’t done him any favors. Consider him day-to-day.
