Kevin Huerter (right ankle sprain) is questionable to play against the Rockets on Tuesday.

Huerter was a full participant in practice on Monday, which is a good sign that he’ll be back after a one-game absence. However, he has lost his spot in the starting unit, with Malik Monk getting the nod in their last game. Huerter’s absence would open up a few extra minutes for Keon Ellis, but with Monk starting, neither of the backup guards will likely play enough to make an impact in fantasy hoops.

Malik Monk shot 7-of-14 from the field in Sunday’s loss to San Antonio, tallying 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists, one steal, one block, and five 3-pointers in 37 minutes.

Not only was Sunday’s start Monk’s first of the season, but it was also his first since the 2022-23 season. He was efficient in that role, shooting 50% from the field and knocking down five 3-pointers. Monk will start on Tuesday against Houston, which boosts his fantasy value, with Keegan Murray and Keon Ellis taking hits to theirs. Murray (eight points, six rebounds, one steal, and one block in 38 minutes) attempted nine shots, while Ellis (eight points, three rebounds, one block, and two 3-pointers) only played 17 minutes off the bench.
DeMar DeRozan

DeMar DeRozan accumulated 28 points (10-of-20 FGs, 8-of-9 FTs), five rebounds, eight assists, and three steals in 37 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Spurs.

DeRozan was on the court after missing two games with muscle inflammation in his lower back, and he showed no ill effects against the Spurs. He led Sacramento in points while recording solid numbers in rebounds, assists, and steals. DeRozan is providing 3rd-round value in 9-cat formats and is also ranked within the top-50 in 8-cat. Provided he stays healthy, there’s no reason to doubt DeRozan’s ability to maintain this production level.

Domantas Sabonis logged 37 minutes in Sunday’s loss to San Antonio, tallying 25 points (8-of-16 FGs, 7-of-10 FTs), 13 rebounds, six assists, and two 3-pointers.

Sabonis didn’t record any steals or blocks on Sunday, the first game he’s failed to contribute defensively since November 10. However, the double-doubles continue to pour in, and Sabonis is ranked among the most productive players in fantasy basketball regardless of league format. He’s providing top-10 per-game value in 8-cat formats while ranking a few spots outside that threshold in 9-cat.

De’Aaron Fox accounted for 23 points (9-of-23 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), six rebounds, nine assists, two steals, one block, and three 3-pointers in 37 minutes in Sunday’s 127-125 loss to the Spurs.

Fox has failed to score at least 21 points just once in his last 16 outings and has been a 3rd-round player in 8-cat formats over the past month. If there’s been an issue for him, it’s been turnovers, as he’s averaging 3.5 per game. Fox only committed two against the Spurs, ending a streak of three consecutive games of four or more. The Kings play six games during Week 7, beginning with the Rockets on Tuesday.

De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk, DeMar DeRozan, Keegan Murray, and Domantas Sabonis will start Sunday’s game against the Spurs.

DeRozan is back in the lineup after missing multiple games with a back injury, which pushes Jae Crowder to the bench. However, that isn’t the only change Kings coach Mike Brown made. Monk will start, with Keon Ellis being moved to the bench. This is Sacramento’s best lineup, and Sunday’s game will be the first they start together.

Huerter injured his ankle during Friday’s loss to the Trail Blazers and did not return. With his absence from Saturday’s practice, Huerter is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Spurs. If he cannot play, Keon Ellis, who replaced Huerter in the starting lineup a few games back, will have a few more minutes available.
