Royal Ivey, out since Nov. 26 with a sprained right knee, still cannot make sharp cuts and is expected to sit out the next three or four games.
Ivey should eventually work his way back into a good share of the point guard minutes.

GM Billy Knight said the acquisition of Tyronn Lue “doesn’t mean we’re not playing Royal any more. (Lue) is a different kind of point guard than the type we have, he pushes the ball up the court, has good defensive pressure and a toughness in guarding people.”
Ivey’s stock does take a dip with Lue’s arrival, but he should still have a big role by the end of the season.

Russell Westbrook (ankle) is day-to-day, but his status for Saturday’s game is “up in the air.”
Westbrook is known for his durability, but there is a chance he might not be able to play on Saturday. If he can’t play, either Royal Ivey or Reggie Jackson will start in his place. Owners should check back for an update before Saturday’s game.

Russell Westbrook is “day-to-day” after suffering a left ankle sprain in Thursday’s win over the Magic.
That makes him questionable for Saturday’s game in Atlanta, which happens to be a one-game road trip. If the Thunder want to play it safe they may not send him out for just one game, but we have no information to that effect. Royal Ivey is the favorite to start if Westbrook misses any time, but the real bump in value will go to Kevin Durant and James Harden.

Russell Westbrook (ankle) left the arena “with a pretty serious limp” following Thursday’s 105-102 win against the Magic.
Westbrook should be considered questionable for Saturday’s game against the Hawks. If Westbrook doesn’t play, either Royal Ivey or Reggie Jackson would draw the start, but Kevin Durant and James Harden would benefit the most from a fantasy standpoint.
  • NBA Small Forward #18
Thabo Sefolosha will miss at least four more weeks with a tendon problem in his right foot.
Daequan Cook has been filling in at SG for the Thunder, with James Harden and Royal Ivey picking up the slack off the bench.

Russell Westbrook (sprained ankle) went through part of OKC’s shootaround and will be a game-time decision on Saturday.
We’re unlikely to know his status until just before tip-off, leaving many of his owners in a precarious position. If he can’t suit up, expect to see either Reggie Jackson or Royal Ivey in the starting lineup, with James Harden also taking on more playmaking duties.

Scott Brooks admitted that he’s thought about starting Royal Ivey at shooting guard ahead of Daequan Cook.
“I’ve definitely thought about it, (but) never to the point where I’ve wanted to pull the trigger,” Brooks said. Cook should continue to start while Thabo Sefolosha (foot) remains out.

Russell Westbrook left Friday night’s game late in the third quarter after spraining his right ankle and will not return. The good news is he was walking without a noticeable limp after the game.
Westbrook rolled his ankle, went straight to the locker room and replays showed that he rolled it pretty badly. The Thunder are winning big tonight, so that probably played a factor in their decision to hold Westbrook out. He’ll be questionable for Sunday when the Thunder host the Nuggets, so stay tuned for updates. If he’s out, Royal Ivey, who had nine points in 21 minutes, or rookie Reggie Jackson could get the start in his place in that one.
  • PHI Point Guard #11
Eric Maynor (knee) will be re-evaluated on Sunday.
Maynor injured his knee on a non-contact play and hit the ground in a heap of pain. It didn’t look good when it happened, and we should have a more firm diagnosis within the next 24 hours. Royal Ivey and rookie Reggie Jackson are behind Maynor on the depth chart.
