Roddy Beaubois started again with Shawn Marion (knee) out, and scored 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, six assists, and a steal in 36 minutes.
Beaubois has been fairly productive with the minutes he has received, but that’s the key issue going forward when Marion and Delonte West (finger) returns.
  • DAL Point Guard
Delonte West (finger) said that he plans to play against the Heat on Thursday.
West is listed as questionable, and despite the fact that he wasn’t expected to play until next week, it sounds like he’s got a real chance of playing. Rick Carlisle said that he would like to get West into the game, but it’ll take some time for West to assume the 23 minutes per game he was getting prior to his injury.
  • DAL Point Guard
Delonte West (finger) traveled to Miami and is questionable for Thursday’s game against the Heat.
West injured his finger on February 15 and hasn’t played in a single game since. However, he’s now been cleared for basketball drills at this point in his rehab. Prior to going down, West was averaging right around 23 minutes per game, but it may take a few games to get his legs back under him before he resumes his traditional role in the rotation.
  • DAL Point Guard
Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said Delonte West stepped on a basketball during Friday’s shootaround and twisted his ankle, leaving his status for Friday’s game against Portland uncertain.
With Jason Kidd (groin) also out, the Mavs would probably start Rodrigue Beaubois at the point and although Buckets has been spectacular at times, he has also disappeared at times as well. Jason Terry and Dominique Jones will also probably get minutes at the 1 as well.
  • DAL Point Guard
Delonte West (ankle) said that he would try to play on Friday against the Blazers.
West is currently testing the ankle right now so this situation doesn’t sound like it’s set in stone. Stay tuned, and if West cannot go then Roddy Buckets will get the start.
  • DAL Point Guard
Delonte West (ankle) is in the layup line in advance of Friday’s game against the Blazers and should start at PG for the Mavs.
Owners can go ahead and use West the way they normally would, but with just a hint of recognition that he’ll be at less than 100 percent. If the injury was truly serious, the Mavs probably wouldn’t rush him back with Jason Kidd (groin) also ailing. Roddy Beaubois is still an intriguing spot-play with some upside if everybody stays hurt.
  • DAL Point Guard #3
Roddy Beaubois scored 10 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 5-of-14 shots (0-for-5 from deep) with one rebound and five assists in 25 minutes.
Beaubois is an interesting character right now because Delonte West is suddenly dealing with an ankle injury and Jason Kidd is out through Saturday’s game against the Grizzlies, at least. The Mavs will likely end up having both West and Kidd healthy enough to cap any upside that Buckets might have, but if not, he’ll be back on the fantasy radar right away.
  • DAL Point Guard
Delonte West dealt with ankle issues all night long in the Mavs’ 99-97 overtime loss to the Blazers on Friday, and finished with 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting, two rebounds, five assists, and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes.
West left the game early before halftime and then made it out to start the second half, and was hobbling throughout the game. We’re marking him as sidelined in advance of Saturday’s game against the Grizzlies, but we have no information to suggest that he won’t play yet. Roddy Beaubois would start if he cannot go, since Jason Kidd (groin) has already been ruled out.
  • DAL Point Guard #3
Roddy Beaubois returned from a two-game absence due to a calf injury on Wednesday night, but played just nine minutes on his way to two points and four rebounds.
With the Mavericks facing a back-to-back starting on Friday (against the fantasy-friendly defense of the Warriors), Beaubois could be in line for some extra run as the team gets ready for the playoffs. Still, it’s hard to trust him at this point in most leagues.
  • DAL Point Guard #3
Roddy Beaubois did not play in Game 1 vs. the Thunder on Saturday.
Roddy has been bothered by a dislocated finger, but it doesn’t seem that was the cause of his inactivity. More likely, coach Rick Carlisle simply preferred different matchups with veterans Delonte West (five points), Jason Kidd (eight points, six rebounds, five assists, seven steals), Jason Terry (20 points, four 3-pointers) and Vince Carter (13 points, seven rebounds). The Mavs nearly stole a win in Oklahoma, so there’s no indication that Roddy will rejoin the rotation.
