Gerald Henderson (hamstring) will play on Wednesday, and could wind up starting contrary to a previous report that he’d come off the bench.
Paul Silas is still reportedly considering whether or not to start him, but Henderson is set to return on Wednesday for the Bobcats. He hasn’t played in a game since February 1 and will likely be limited in his minutes whether he’s starting or coming off the bench. He had been averaging 15.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.9 steals prior to getting hurt.
  • NOP Shooting Guard #5
Reggie Williams started for ailing Corey Maggette (back) on Monday, scoring 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting (including a three) with six rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes.
There’s a few things not to like with Williams, including Maggette’s possible return to Williams’ inconsistency and the general disarray in Charlotte. But all Williams needs is for Maggette to exit stage right and he could be poised for a solid stretch run, making him worth a look in most formats.
  • SAS Small Forward
Derrick Brown will start Friday’s game against the Bucks, sending Reggie Williams to the bench.
We’re asking owners to take a wait-and-see approach with this game, for one because the Bobcats are a very fluid fantasy team right now and for two because the Bucks changed their lineup drastically tonight. The Bucks will be running a very small lineups, so we’ll see if the Bobcats have it in them to oblige and help the box score get filled.
  • NOP Shooting Guard #5
Reggie Williams did not play on Friday due to a left knee injury.
Williams has had ongoing problems with this knee and there’s enough uncertainty surrounding him to be droppable in fantasy leagues, despite the theoretic opportunity he has with Corey Maggette (Achilles) out.
  • SAS Small Forward
Derrick Brown started for injured Reggie Williams (knee) and neared a double-double in Friday’s loss, scoring 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting with nine rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 34 minutes.
Brown did well in the minutes that were provided, but it’s possible that Corey Maggette and/or Williams return to kill his value. If you need spot-help, give him a look, but anything beyond that is asking for too much at this time.
  • NOP Shooting Guard #5
Reggie Williams (knee) will sit out again vs. the Hawks on Saturday.
Corey Maggette is set to return in a bench role for Charlotte, which is the final blow to Reggie’s continued fantasy value. Drop him, if you haven’t already.
  • CHA Power Forward #8
D.J. White played through a thumb injury on Friday, scoring eight points on 4-of-6 shooting with four rebounds and two blocks in 17 minutes.
With the Bobcats in disarray, the only reason White is getting a blurb is to notate his thumb injury, which probably won’t be a problem going forward. Until things normalize, nobody on the Bobcats’ bench other than Kemba Walker will be worth fantasy consideration in most formats.
  • SAS Small Forward #14
Corey Maggette left Monday’s game with back spasms and will not return.
He played just eight minutes and this is obviously disastrous news for his owners. However, it also should not come as a surprise to anyone, as nearly every blurb we’ve posted about him this year mentions how fragile he is. Maggette is day-to-day for now and Reggie Williams started for him in the second half.
  • NOP Shooting Guard #5
Reggie Williams played 32 minutes and started the second half with Corey Maggette (back) leaving the game early on Monday, scoring six points on 3-of-13 shooting (0-for-7 from deep) with four rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Like many of his previous opportunities, Williams failed to take advantage of his chance tonight. Still, though, owners will want to watch him carefully and consider an add despite the poor showing. He doesn’t have a strong add recommendation at this time, but with starter’s minutes he could do some damage.
  • SAS Small Forward #14
Coach Paul Silas is hopeful that Corey Maggette (back) will be able to play in Friday’s game against the Bucks.
This edition of Maggette’s back woes doesn’t appear overly serious. Silas lamented not having the veteran in Monday’s loss to the Sixers, so we can be sure he’ll regain the starting small forward gig and 30-minute role once healthy. We’ll know more after practices on Wednesday and Thursday.
