Peyton Watson (head contusion) has been upgraded to available for Tuesday’s game against the 76ers.
Watson was initially listed as probable, so his availability doesn’t come as a surprise. He’ll fill out his typical role off the bench, though his fantasy production will be limited with Aaron Gordon healthy.
  • DEN Small Forward #8
Peyton Watson (head contusion) is probable to play against the 76ers on Tuesday.
Watson exited early from Sunday’s game against the Magic after hitting his head on the court during the first half. However, that isn’t expected to keep him out of the lineup against Philadelphia. Watson should continue to play a role off the bench, though it will be limited with Aaron Gordon back.
  • DEN Small Forward #8
Peyton Watson (head contusion) did not return for the second half of Sunday’s win over Orlando.
Watson hit the back of his head on the court during the second quarter of Sunday’s game. While the Nuggets announced that he was questionable to return, the third-year forward did not play again. If Watson has to miss time, Julian Strawther should play more minutes off the bench. On Tuesday, Denver begins a three-game Week 13 slate at home against the 76ers.

Peyton Watson (head contusion) is questionable to return to Sunday’s game against the Magic.
Watson fell hard and hit his head on the court during the second quarter of Sunday’s game. While he did walk back to the locker room under his own power, the Nuggets forward did so while holding the back of his head. If Watson cannot return, fellow reserve Julian Strawther should play more minutes off the bench.
  • DEN Power Forward #32
Aaron Gordon (strained right calf) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Heat.
Gordon sat out the second leg of their back-to-back on Wednesday, which isn’t surprising after his extended absence with a calf issue. Russell Westbrook has been starting in his place, and it’s unclear when Gordon will make a return to the starting unit. If he misses another game, Peyton Watson will play a few extra minutes off the bench.
  • DEN Power Forward #32
Aaron Gordon (strained right calf) has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Rockets.
Gordon will sit out the second leg of this back-to-back after logging 18 minutes off the bench against Dallas on Tuesday. Russell Westbrook will continue to start in his place, with Peyton Watson taking on a few extra minutes off the bench.
  • DEN Point Guard #27
Jamal Murray did not return to Friday’s game against the Nets due to a sore left knee.
Due to his sore knee, Murray was limited to 16 minutes on Friday. His premature exit freed up additional minutes for Peyton Watson and Julian Strawther, with the former being part of Denver’s closing lineup. If Murray has to miss additional time, Strawther is his likely replacement in the starting lineup, with Russell Westbrook being the lone point guard on the court.
  • DEN Power Forward #32
Aaron Gordon will be out for Tuesday’s matchup with the Celtics due to a right calf strain.
Gordon will miss his seventh straight game which means Russell Westbrook could remain in the starting five. Michael Porter Jr. has seen his role as a scorer increase with Gordon on the sidelines.
  • DEN Point Guard #4
Russell Westbrook got the start on Friday and contributed 11 points (5-of-13 FGs), four rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one triple against Cleveland.
Aaron Gordon is set to miss “a couple games”, but instead of being replaced by Peyton Watson, it was Westbrook that got he starting nod. Westbrook was able to provide decent value in his 30 minutes, but Watson (18/1/2/1/1, 2 threes) was still able to provide a boost off the bench in 26 minutes. Both players should be stronger fantasy options until Gordon returns, but having Westbrook in the starting lineup makes him the more reliable option. Russ has had at least six assists in all eight of his starts this year, and he’ll look to keep that streak going with Detroit coming to town on Saturday.
  • DEN Point Guard #4
Russell Westbrook, Jamal Murray, Christian Braun, Michael Porter Jr., and Nikola Jokic will start Friday’s game against the Cavaliers.
The Nuggets will be without Aaron Gordon, who has been sidelined by a strained calf. And they’ll go small on Friday, with Westbrook moving into the starting lineup and not Peyton Watson. Westbrook should be rostered in points leagues, and the move into the starting lineup also makes him worth a look in standard category leagues. Watson will be in the rotation, but this lineup means he’ll likely miss out on a boost to his fantasy value.
