Playing with a bruised hand he suffered in Tuesday’s game, Peja Stojakovic went for 20 points in 38 minutes last night.
He shot just 6-for-15 but sank all five of his free throws.

Peja Stojakovic said an MRI Monday showed inflammation in his lower back, but nothing else.
“I’m going to sit,” said Stojakovic. “I want to see if this helps.” He’s not likely to play tonight against Houston, but is day-to-day.

Peja Stojakovic has missed the past seven games with a strained right hamstring, and his status for tonight’s game is unclear.
Former 76ers Kenny Thomas, Corliss Williamson, and Brian Skinner have all historically played well against Orlando, so Peja could rest another game.

Tests on Peja Stojakovic’s sprained ankle were negative. He’s considered day-to-day.
Stojakovic sprained his left ankle Monday at the European Championships.

Peja Stojakovic has asked the Kings for a trade, the Associated Press reports.
“I think the change would be good for the team and for myself,” he said. “That’s the only explanation you’re going to get from me.” Stojakovic apparently is upset that Vlade Divac was let go and at comments made by Chris Webber. He said he doesn’t have a preference about where he’s dealt. The Kings likely will try to change his mind about this.

Peja Stojakovic scored 24 points with 14 rebounds against the Mavs Tuesday night.
It was the second time in a week that Peja grabbed 14 boards in a game, but only the third time all season that he’s hit double-figures. Expect Stojakovic’s value to continue to soar while Webber is out.

Defending champion Serbia & Montenegro will be without Peja Stojakovic at the 2006 World Championships in Japan this summer, his coach told a newspaper.
No reason was given for his absence, although he’s probably tired and wants to get his knee fully healthy before the new NBA season starts in the fall.

The Pacers reportedly came to Peja Stojakovic with a disappointing offer, so he signed with the Hornets.
The Pacers now have nothing to show for the trade that sent Ron Artest to Sacramento for Peja, but will focus on trying to acquire former Pacer Al Harrington in a sign-and-trade from the Hawks.

The Hornets made the first big news of the NBA’s free-agent signing period, agreeing to terms Saturday with forward Peja Stojakovic.
Stojakovic, who last week opted to become a free agent instead of continue playing for Indiana, will sign a five-year deal worth about $64 million with the Hornets, said his agent, David Bauman. This is going to be disturbing news for the Pacers, who thought they had a good chance at re-signing the swingman. The Hornets no longer need to look for a shooter to fill in the hole that J.R. Smith will eventually leave.

Peja Stojakovic reported to Kings camp today and said he still wants a trade out of Sacramento.
He isn’t planning a holdout, though. “I’m still standing behind the words I said in August, but I am professional,” Stojakovic said. “I have a contract with the Kings, two years, and I’m going to honor that. It just wouldn’t be fair for the city, the organization and for my teammates, who I respect. I’m just going to go out there and play basketball.” Peja will likely remain with Sacramento for at least one more season.
