Lonzo Ball (knee) and Talen Horton-Tucker (leg) have been ruled out against the Timberwolves on Wednesday.
Ball will sit out the second leg of this back-to-back, which shouldn’t come as a surprise. His starting spot will be open, and it will likely be filled by Patrick Williams or Matas Buzelis, who just had 24 points on 10-of-10 shooting on Tuesday. THT will miss a third straight game, but he hasn’t played a large role when healthy, so that won’t impact their rotation.
  • CHI Shooting Guard #25
Dalen Terry (knee) is listed as doubtful for Tuesday’s Bulls-Heat game.
Terry has been more involved since the end of January but is out of commission because of a left knee contusion. If Terry is ruled out, Patrick Williams should take on a few extra minutes off the bench. Williams has scored in double figures in four straight games since being moved to a reserve role.
  • CHI Shooting Guard #22
Talent Horton-Tucker (leg) has been ruled out for Tuesday’s Bulls-Heat game.
THT will miss his second straight game for the shorthanded Bulls. His absence could benefit Patrick Williams, who was demoted to the bench last month and has scored at least 11 points in four straight games.
  • CHI Point Guard #11
Lonzo Ball, Josh Giddey, Zach LaVine, Ayo Dosunmu, and Nikola Vucevic will start Monday’s game against the Nuggets.
After coming off the bench in his first games back from a calf strain, Dosunmu will be in the starting lineup for Monday’s game. He replaces the struggling Patrick Williams, who has failed to offer much value whether he starts or comes off the bench. Those who still have the former lottery pick rostered should probably move on.
  • CHI Point Guard #11
Ayo Dosunmu (right soleus strain) is available for Friday’s game against Charlotte.
Dosunmu played 25 minutes off the bench in his return to the Bulls’ rotation on Wednesday. He should take on a similar workload, with the question being if there will be a point when Ayo reclaims his place in the starting lineup. If so, Patrick Williams is the player headed back to the bench.
  • CHI Point Guard #11
Ayo Dosunmu (right soleus strain) is available for Wednesday’s game against Atlanta.
Dosunmu is officially available for Wednesday’s game, his first after spending the last ten on the bench. He’ll be restricted to 24-26 minutes in his first game back, which likely means Patrick Williams will remain in the starting lineup. While Chicago did pay Williams a significant amount last offseason, Dosunmu has been the better player when healthy. It would be unsurprising if Dosunmu regains his place in the starting lineup once allowed to play without any restrictions.
  • CHI Power Forward #44
Patrick Williams (right elbow contusion) is active for Sunday’s Bulls-Kings game.
Williams is active after scoring just two points in each of his last two games. The Bulls wing has been underwhelming as of late and has played less than 22 minutes in two straight contests. It appears like he’ll be ready to handle a full workload on Sunday, though.
  • CHI Power Forward #44
Patrick Williams (right elbow contusion) is probable for Sunday’s game against Sacramento.
Williams is probable for Sunday’s game, so he should be able to play when it’s all said and done. He’s been a fixture in the starting lineup since Ayo Dosunmu injured his calf, but the 2020 lottery pick has not provided reliable fantasy value. At best, Williams is a deep-league option.
  • CHI Point Guard #11
Ayo Dosunmu (right soleus strain) is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Kings.
While Dosunmu appears unlikely to play on Sunday, there’s hope that he’ll return during Chicago’s current homestand. Patrick Williams will remain in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future, possibly even after Dosunmu returns.
  • CHI Point Guard #11
Bulls coach Billy Donovan is hopeful that Ayo Dosunmu (right soleus strain) can return during the team’s current homestand.
Beginning with Friday’s game against Washington, the Bulls will play five consecutive games at home. Dosunmu will likely need some time to ramp up, meaning Sunday’s game against Sacramento may be off the table. His eventual return will mean fewer minutes for Patrick Williams and Dalen Terry, with the former possibly dropping out of the starting lineup.
