Former first-round pick Omri Casspi is scheduled to officially announce his retirement from the NBA at a news conference in his native country of Israel on Sunday evening.
Casspi was the first first-round pick out of Israel ever, and he has played there the last two years as a member of Maccabi Tel Aviv B.C. His last action in the NBA came in the 2018-2019 season as a part of the Grizzlies, so this announcement should come as no surprise. He’ll finish his 10-year NBA career with averages of 7.9 points and 4.0 rebounds per game on 45.4% shooting, and we wish him the best of luck as he continues his basketball career in the place he calls home.

Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv announced they signed Omri Casspi on Tuesday.
Rumors of Casspi returning to play for Maccabi next season had been making the rounds for over a month, and now the two sides have finally made it official.

Updating a previous report, Omri Casspi has not signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The club is interested in signing Casspi, but the two sides have reportedly yet to discuss the terms of a potential deal. Casspi is still evaluating his NBA opportunities.

Omri Casspi will return to Maccabi Tel Aviv after agreeing to a three-year contract with the club.
Casspi, born in Israel, played with Maccabi’s youth team prior to joining the professional team at the age of 17. He spent 10 seasons in the NBA with seven different teams. Casspi will be captain of the team and also have a management role available to him upon his retirement.

Omri Casspi has reportedly drawn interest from Maccabi Tel Aviv and Olimpia Milano.
Casspi suffered a season-ending torn meniscus in his right knee back in February. It’s possible that his NBA career has come to an end.

    Grizzlies waive F Omri Casspi.
He is recovering from surgery on his meniscus and the injury bug continues to bite Casspi. Maybe he can get healthy to return to a team in April, but he doesn’t have fantasy value right now.

Omri Casspi (knee) suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee and he will have surgery next week.
It’s been a tough few years for Casspi and his season is in jeopardy. With him out, the Grizzlies should get a longer look at Bruno Caboclo as a combo forward. Bruno could be worth a look in 14-team leagues and he might gain some value today against the Hornets.

Omri Casspi (right knee) has been ruled out of Friday’s game vs. the Hornets.
This will be the fourth straight game on the shelf for Casspi. He should be left on waivers. Bruno Caboclo logged 32 minutes off the Grizzlies’ bench on Wednesday and finished with seven points, three rebounds, three assists, four blocks and one 3-pointer. Caboclo should see plenty of playing time on Friday as well.

Omri Casspi (right knee) will not suit up for Wednesday’s game against the Timberwolves.
It’ll be his third consecutive game on the sidelines, and with him out, Bruno Caboclo should again be able to flirt with around 20 minutes off the bench. Casspi isn’t worth owning anywhere, and Caboclo can only be viewed as a low-end option in extremely deep leagues.

Omri Casspi (right knee soreness) will not play on Monday vs. the Nuggets.
He’s safe to leave on the wire in all formats and could miss more time considering he was doubtful before this update. Kyle Anderson (ankle) will be back in the lineup tonight anyways, and the Grizzlies will want to get another look at Bruno Caboclo.
