Nick Richards finished Saturday’s win over the Bulls with 15 points (5-of-9 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs) and nine rebounds in 28 minutes.
Richards, who struggled in most of Phoenix’s last 10 games before the All-Star break, performed well in Chicago. And with Mason Plumlee (10 points, six rebounds and one blocked shot in 17 minutes) also playing well, there wasn’t much time available to Bol Bol, who logged 13 minutes off the bench. If Richards can play well enough to crack the mid-20s in minutes, he can have value in deep leagues. Unfortunately, there isn’t much that fantasy managers can do to determine whether or not he’ll play well before setting their lineups.

Nick Richards logged 24 minutes in Friday’s win over Golden State, accumulating 14 points (6-of-8 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), 16 rebounds, one assist, and two blocked shots.
Richards has hit double figures in rebounds four times since being traded to Phoenix, recording a double-double in three. While the 11th-round value in 8-cat formats since the move hasn’t been great, that has more to do with Richards’ limited defensive production than anything else. Managers looking for rebounding and a high field goal percentage should add the Suns center, who’s rostered in 42% of Yahoo leagues.

Nick Richards had 20 points (7-of-12 FGs), 19 rebounds, one assist and one block against the Wizards on Saturday.
Richards had his best game of the season Saturday. The 27-year-old center was a monster on the glass as he recorded a career-high 19 rebounds. Richards also managed his second game with at least 20 points in four games since the Suns acquired him from the Hornets. He doesn’t provide a lot in the defensive categories, but he delivers plenty of value in his points and rebounds.

Nick Richards finished Wednesday’s win over Brooklyn with eight points (3-of-4 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs) and 15 rebounds in 22 minutes.
As was the case in Monday’s loss to the Cavaliers, Richards did not provide much value as a scorer on Wednesday. However, he avoided foul trouble and grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds, providing value in an area where the Suns struggled before his acquisition. While the lack of defensive stats was disappointing, Richards remains well-positioned to deliver value now that he’s guaranteed a place in the starting lineup. Mason Plumlee (6/5/1/4) played 17 minutes off the bench, and Oso Ighodaro (one rebound and one assist) played nine.

Nick Richards played 22 foul-plagued minutes in Monday’s loss to Cleveland, tallying four points (2-of-4 FGs), four rebounds, one assist, and two blocked shots.
After coming off the bench in his Suns’ debut on Saturday, Richards moved into the starting lineup against the Cavaliers. Even with Evan Mobley out of the Cleveland lineup, this was not a good matchup for Richards. He struggled with foul trouble and didn’t do much when he was on the floor. Backups Mason Plumlee and Oso Ighodaro combined to play 12 minutes, so they didn’t offer much upside. Managers who have Richards rostered should hold onto him, especially with the Suns playing Brooklyn and Washington to end Week 13.

The Suns are starting Tyus Jones, Devin Booker, Ryan Dunn, Kevin Durant, and Nick Richards in Monday’s Suns-Cavaliers game.
Richards is set to make his first start with the Suns after notching 21 points and 11 rebounds in his debut with the team. Mason Plumlee has been moved to the bench in the aftermath.

Nick Richards accumulated 21 points (7-of-8 FGs, 7-of-9 FTs), 11 rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 29 minutes in Saturday’s win over Detroit.
Richards didn’t start his Suns’ debut, but his performance showed why that’s the expectation for him moving forward. With Hornets coach Charles Lee having been a member of Mike Budenholzer’s coaching staff in Milwaukee, there weren’t many differences in the philosophies and verbiage, which undoubtedly aided Richards’ transition. The production and the minutes mean he’s a must-add in standard leagues, with Mason Plumlee (4/6/1 in 13 minutes) and Oso Ighodaro (one point, one rebound in five minutes) losing their value.
  • PHX Center #4
Nick Richards has not yet joined the Suns, according to a report from The Arizona Republic’s Duane Rankin. He’s expected to join the team on Saturday.
Richards won’t suit up against the Wizards on Thursday but will have a chance to make his Suns debut against the Pistons on Saturday.

The Suns have acquired Nick Richards and a second-round pick in exchange for Josh Okogie and three second-round picks.
The center position has provided plenty of issues for Phoenix this season, but they seem to have found their solution. They didn’t have to give up much, as Okogie hasn’t been a large part of their rotation. Recently, Mason Plumlee has been the starting center, with Oso Ighodaro filling out the backup minutes. Jusuf Nurkic has been out of the rotation entirely, and it wouldn’t be shocking if he was moved before the trade deadline. Plumlee and Ighodaro haven’t been great options, and the path for Richards to start at center is wide open. Assuming that happens, he should be considered a must-roster player in standard leagues.
  • CHA Center #4
Nick Richards provided a boost off the bench with 15 points (4-of-6 FGs), 12 rebounds and three blocks against the Suns on Tuesday.
Despite some excellent performances as part of the starting unit, Richards has been irrelevant in fantasy basketball as a reserve. However, coming off a scoreless performance in just eight minutes, Richards was able to record his first double-double in over a month. It was great to see him play well, but this doesn’t make him worth adding off the waiver wire. Unless Mark Williams misses a game, Richards won’t be reliable enough to consider rostering.
