Everybody knows that things couldn’t have ended much worse than they did for Markieff Morris in Phoenix. The relationship between him and the team was damaged irreparably when they traded his twin brother Marcus to Detroit during last offseason, and he was visibly unhappy all year. The Suns traded him to the Wizards at the deadline, and he’s been happier there.

As luck would have it, Friday was April Fool’s Day, and the Wizards made their return to Phoenix. To celebrate, Morris’ teammates put his Suns jersey and nameplate at his locker before the game. Details from CSN Mid Atlantic’s Keely Diven:

Talking Stick Resort Arena likely conjures some unpleasant memories for Markieff Morris, who was traded from the Suns to the Wizards this February. But when the forward returned to his old stomping grounds for the first time on April Fool’s Day, neither his current nor former team could pass up a good prank.

Just take a look at the Washington locker room, where Morris’ locker was filled with bright orange Phoenix gear. His old No. 11 jersey, shorts, sneakers and name plate.

Points for creativity, but you have to imagine Morris wasn’t exactly thrilled when he saw it.
