The 2012 All-Star game hasn’t been filled with a ton of memorable highlights just yet, but here in Orlando at halftime, one of the teams has accomplished something worth noting.
The West is out to an 88-69 lead over the East, and the 88 points is a record for the most scored in a half. The previous record of 87 points had been unsurpassed since 1989.
A few early highlights included a violent windmill dunk from LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and he connecting on a couple of alley-oops, and Chris Paul finding Blake Griffin for a couple of thunderous slams.
Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are your co-MVPs at halftime, having combined for 38 points on 16-of-24 shooting. Durant leads all scorers at halftime with 21 points, and Westbrook is second in that department with 17.
