Over the past couple of weeks, Zion Williamson has started to look like his explosive, unstoppable self again — in the five games leading into Wednesday night he averaged 27 points a game on 60% shooting.

He did even better Wednesday against the 76ers, who were without Joel Embiid and with that any way to slow Zion down. He scored 33 points on 11-of-12 shooting, plus had eight rebounds and six assists.

Zion took 10 of his shots in the restricted area and hit all 10, he took his other two shots outside the restricted area but in the paint, hitting one. He was a force of nature around the rim.

CJ McCollum returned to action after missing weeks with a collapsed lung and scored 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting, and Jonas Valanciunas added 19 points for New Orleans, which picked up the 124-114 win over one of the hottest teams in the league. Tyrese Maxey led the 76ers with 33 points but this was not Philadelphia’s night.

It was Zion’s.
